I like the fact it is a lotion, so tanning is not a two step process. I'm not usually into the botanic stuff, but the price was right so gave it a chance. Pleasantly surprised. Moisturizing but not greasy. Dries down quickly. I use a self tanner daily on my lower legs only. Has a nice color, not orange-y. Doesn't streak. Its my favorite but overpriced and small

Its my favorite- but it has done nothing but go up in price. It is almost double what it used to be when I began purchasing. I will have to use an alternative because the size is not worth the cost anymore. It is my favorite because i have never had a streak and the color is really natural for my "soft autumn" skin tone. Good product, just didn’t work for me

Pros: the smell. Every self-tanner I’ve ever used just smells kind of unpleasant. This one actually smells good and doesn’t have that fake-tan smell to it. I also like that it’s a lotion, so it’s easy to use and is also moisturizing. Cons: I never got a tan. I’m fair skinned, and even after many many reapplies, no color :( I made sure I followed the directions: clean skin, apply, let dry for at least 15 min, stay out of water etc. for at least 3 hours, then reapply if you want to deepen the color. I would reapply every 3 hours multiple times throughout the day, and I never noticed a change in my skin tone. I can’t blame this on the product, because who knows, it may just be my skin type! Overall, it didn’t work for me, but the price is affordable so I won’t complain too much! ;) ... show more

Natural Looking, Subtle Color and Enjoyable Scent

I have histamine intolerance so finding a product that doesn't cause rashes, break outs, wheezing due to cloying scents, is tricky. My previous product by nature's gate was discontinued and I was so sad. I gave this a try, hoping the scent wouldn't be perfumey and sicken me or cause skin irritation. It is amazing. I am buying my third container right now. Please don't ever discontinue this product! I am pale with freckles but this goes on and leaves a natural looking tan without being orange. I want something that feels light, with a refreshing scent, no streaking, no fake n bake. The scent is citrusy to me because of the orange and grapefruit oils in it but the sweet almond adds a touch of sweetness, to me it smells tropical and I love that. I apply to my face after every shower, just a thin amount and my arms and legs. It lasts me months. Sometimes I stack color if I'm gardening 2 or 3 days in a row because I moisturize beforehand. If you're looking for dramatic color then you will probably be disappointed. If you are fair skinned and just want to look less like a ghost it will fit you perfectly and NATURALLY. It truly creates a beautiful natural tan—not at all streaky or blotchy. For me, reapplication is necessary about every other day…..maybe every 2 days. But it definitely isn’t an every day thing. This is my go to vegan self-tanner. It’s significantly less expensive than other vegan self-tanners—but it works GREAT!! It’s a beautiful tan. I’ve gotten many compliments—when I tell people it’s a self-tanner, they’re always very surprised. It’s NOT overly bronze, orange, or fake looking. Very natural and beautiful color. I’ve been hardcore vegan for somewhere between 31 and 32 years. I only use vegan products…… non-vegan is never an option. I must say vegan skin care, hair care, body care, make up is the best anyway. 🤷🏻♀️😊…..This is absolutely true of Alba Botanica Sunless Tanner. I highly recommend any vegan product by Alba……I’m pretty sure not every single thing Alba makes is vegan, but the Alba products I use definitely are completely vegan and they’re great. BIG thumbs up to my fellow vegans…..and anybody else who wants a beautiful very natural sunless tan. About the photos—I’ve been using Alba sunless tanner for years. Not as effective as it used to be.

I had used this product for over a decade and really liked it. Called the company and was informed it was discontinued in 2024. I love this product!

My legs haven’t seen the light of day in quite a while. I have tried 2-3 self tanners in that time and all I was left with was orange patches and horrible smells. I tried this one due to the mostly positive reviews and I have to say I am impressed! It gave a subtle tan to my ghost white legs and not orange at all. The smell wasn’t too bad and went away after showering so that was a huge plus. I loved the fact that it went on evenly and turned out natural (even around my knees and ankles!) I used the product twice in one day to see if it would get darker but I didn’t see a change, which was fine. If you just want a hint of natural color, definitely buy this!! It gave me the confidence to wear shorts and go outside to work on a real tan (and not blind anyone with my legs). ... show more
