This is a gift for my really hard-to-buy for husband, and I predict he's going to love it. It's heavy, so it doesn't look or feel like a toy. The case is well made, and I imagine this being displayed along with a few other eclectic pieces. And it works. I was able to see a tree line very clearly a little over a half mile away.

The spy glass is very cool and heavy which I didn’t expect. Like other reviews have stated the case had a grey residue and smelled of mildew but came off quickly with an antibacterial wipe so that’s the reason for the missing star but overall and cool gift for a boat owner

I was surprised at how well the telescope worked, and the leather case was very nice as well. The whole thing felt well-crafted and solid. Of course the view wasn't quite as clear as more expensive, modern designs, but it was still surprisingly good (the consensus of my family and me) and surpassed my expectations in functionality.

If you have heard the phrase “under promise but over impress” this spyglass fits it perfectly. My son is a a new sailboat owner and we struggle to find him gifts for birthdays and Christmas. I was stupefied at the great quality of this glass and the case the spyglass is impressive and if the case it isn’t leather it should be I can’t tell the difference. My son was over the moon with this item. The timing and the appropriateness of his birthday made this gift perfect for the occasion. occasion. this is the coolest thing I've ever gotten from amazon!!! Its metal and has such a great weight to it, it feels like 5 pounds!. you can see so far with it! It also comes with a cool case and a lends cover. Its worth every penny, the way it folds out is so cool!

The telescope is beautiful. However I could smell it even before I opened it. The exterior leather was moldy. Some mold inside the leather box as well. I received it very quickly so it had no time to mold along the journey. The mold came from your end. Just thought you should know. Didn’t think to take a picture before I washed the case.
