I was skeptical at first and thought this would be difficult to put together. Boy was I wrong I put this together in 20 minutes by myself. It's not the highest quality wood but does it really matter? It looks great it works great and my tortoise loves it

I was super hesitant about ordering this but eventually I caved and bought it. Arrived on time, I laid everything out and put it together all on my own! The instructions were easy, because I read every review (ten times over, I overthink everything) I only used a screwdriver; I was nervous about splitting the wood if I used a drill. The pieces definitely had a strong odor of chemicals mixed in with a woody scent. My nostrils and brain were very confused so that’s the combination of smells they came up with. Moorla, The Ancient One (my tortoise) loves his new enclosure! It’s spacious and has a lot of room for activities ;-) I really like the idea of putting 2 of them together so I might order another one in the near future. My Russian Tortoise has been spending all summer on the front porch so he's not going to like being confined to a cage/house no matter how big it is. I had bought a bunny hutch from the same company years ago and was very happy with the quality. My handyman came today and put this one together in about 45mn. All the parts were there and it seems to be sturdy and good quality wood pieces. Everything fit nicely. I am just disappointed that the plastic bottom trays do not slide out - I'll have to scoop out the bedding to clean it out. Might not be so nice for everyone but overall I would recommend this for a small tortoise, snake or other reptile/small animal. It's nice looking too. ... show more

This is a very nice enclosure for my 4 month old red foot tortoise. I am hoping this will be big enough for him for at least another 1-2 years. The instructions to build it were kind of confusing, but I ended up using the instructions as a reference and built it by myself. There is a strong wood/cedar smell but I’m hoping that will go away with time. I do think that light pole is a bit too tall so I am not sure if I will use it. Great quality! ... show more

    • Needs altering to be better

I got one of these for my blue tongued skink as she needed a new cage. It was a little difficult to put together as I am used to these DIY furniture pieces to have pre-drilled holes for screws. There are some- but not for every screw. The wood is thin and splinters very easily. Mine came cracked so I patched it up with some wood glue and touch up paint. Also put a bead of silicone around the sides to make it easier to clean as some bedding was falling out the bottom since it wasn't a great seal. The lock was fiddly and difficult so I tossed the one that came with this and replaced it with one I grabbed from home depot. Much better! The instructions were very easy and also mentioned how to put two together, which was nice to know I have that option. If you alter it a little, it's a really nice cage! ... show more

As you can see in the photos. This is such a beautiful enclosure! I love how it comes with the light stand. It is also really easy to get together and I like that you can add an extension to it if you need to. Plus, Tenny the tort is absolutely happy with his home🙂
