    • Works well...with limitations
I bought this little pump for a bird bath. It works as expected with adequate power, and the many nozzle attachments give a lot of spray possibilities. It does need to be cleaned frequently because it sucks in all the bird bath debris and plugs up. First problem: the little suction cups on the bottom of the device are useless to hold it in place. I finally used three small rocks to keep it in the center of the water. Second: spray height and volume are highly variable depending on amount of sunlight, so it's hard to regulate on a sun/cloud day. Add wind, and the water blows everywhere out of the bird bath. Most of the nozzles shoot water too high to be useful in a bird bath when it's sunny. I need to refill water repeatedly. So....the pump works just fine except for the suction cups (not sure for how long; I've only used it for a few weeks), but it doesn't really work in a bird bath. And it will require an anchoring system of some kind to keep it from randomly floating around your body of water and spraying everywhere! ... show more

This solar water fountain is really cute, it works, but since there is no battery only works in direct sunlight, it does not store power. I just wish you could adjust the water fountain, it is so high it drains my bird bath in about 10-15 minutes, it would work perfect in larger bath or a pond. I did decide to take off the attachments so the water just bubbles from the unit instead of spraying high in the air, i still get my water sound but don't lose my water. ... show more

I have done a lot of container gardening this year, so I put this fountain in a large container among my flower pots. I received only three of the sticks that are put in the sides of the fountain to help it stay centered and I was supposed to receive four. No big deal I just used a small twig out of the yard which of course would have to be replaced pretty often. In the end I put the fountain in a smaller container and cut one of the sticks that came with the fountain into smaller pieces to hold it in place. It emptied very quickly using the spray nozzles so I just have it bubbling straight up. Didn't have to add water after that. This was the first day I've had it out and it worked great all day. ... show more

My bird bath dish is too shallow for this fountain to work for an extended period, but when it's full and the Sun is shinning I'd say it works pretty good, and all the local birds seem to love it. But I've noticed that if a big cloud passes by and blocks the Sun mine will just shut down. It IS solar powered after all. Looking forward to getting a deeper bird bath and watching this little fountain really show its stuff!! When it runs too low on water to function I swear you can hear the birds chirping and chirping, as if they're complaining, "C'mon lady, what's the deal here?!" The fountain works great, but it travels, which always ends up downhill. Needs Velcro to attach to bottom.

    • Higher Spray than I wanted?
It functioned very well, but the water would spray out of our standard size bird bath in a couple hours. I tried to reduce power by covering a few of the solar panels, but then it would only spurt. Better suited for a larger pond or bird bath.
