AISIN is a well known OEM for Subaru and other Asian manufacturers. You're just as likely to find their name stamped on a part as you are to receive it in a Subaru box. If you want to go with a quality part without paying the dealer, AISIN is a good option. I've used a bunch of their parts over the years, this thermostat included, and have never found them inadequate. It includes the required seal so you don't have to buy one either. It's a thermostat. This particular make is well made and has gone through a bitterly cold winter and hot summer and done its job well. There were no problems in the installation, but the quality can only be determined over time. This one is quality. The old one lasted 197,000 miles. On the 2012 Subaru Legacy it was very easy to install. I have a computer module that sends data to my phone. And the new thermostat maintained the temperature within a couple degrees. Apparently this is a very, very good brand per MY mechanic. Please see the photos of the old one. Bought this for a 2012 Subaru Outback 2.5 Liter. It fit perfectly. I got it because I bought the Aisin TFK-600 timing belt with water pump kit. The thermostat is mounted in the water pump and the kit comes with a gasket. I was not having problems with my old thermostat but figured since I would already be in there to go ahead and change it too. I've had it in for about a week now with temps being in the high 80's and it has worked as it should so far. Also, this company provides parts for the factory so these are OEM. ... show more
