neoprene is the way to go and this life jacket didn't disappoint. Everything is high quality material and my 4-year-old daughter loves it. Shes tall for her age and has some room to grow into it still. I would advise you to be careful with the strap that goes between the legs, we had it too tight and it caused a small rash. once we loosened, it was completely fine. ... show more

Handle on the back is the best part. This vest flips my 18 mo old onto her back if she gets too deep in the pool and can’t touch. She did go in on the side and managed to go headfirst and it kept her in that position so definitely stay close. Very good quality material and I think it's quite comfortable for our little one to wear. It runs small though. Our family is long and lean and this just fits the length of her torso. The jacket has tummy room to expand but as I said just fits her torso. I'm a bit bummed honestly with what we paid for this given it barely fits but if it were a good fit I'd recommend. It's very good quality, I can't stress that enough. I think their next size up is a women's and I was a bit leery of going up to that size as our child is only a petite 8 yr old.
