I purchased this to put on top of a cheap mattress that was purchased at Walmart. With the mattress alone, you could feel the springs in the mattress. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable, but over time I could see it causing problems. Adding this foam mattress topper to that inexpensive mattress has solved the problem of feeling springs. The mattress is used more as a futon for our game room, so it has not been slept on; however, lying on it is so much more comfortable. The price is so-so.
