  • Awesome product.
Installed today. Very easy. No disassembly of anything required. I have a hitch mounted tire carrier that also holds 2 Gerry cans and a jack. Could tell the difference right away.

  • Fixed the ride height problem.
Application - 1967 Buick Skylark. The rear springs must be getting tired since adding weight to the trunk or filling the tank caused the rear to squat, something the I am not a big fan of. This appeared to be the most cost effective way to resolve the problem and would give me some options as to how much lift I put in the rear. Quite often I will make inquiries before purchase just to see if the product has reasonable customer support. In this case they manufacturer responded promptly and answered all but one of my questions (more about that later). The kit is quite complete and the instructions are pretty good. Probably the most difficult part is getting the lift bags through the springs. Their recomendation to use a tire spoon was right on target since some encouragement will be necessary to get the bags past the springs. You will also need to get two three inch hose clamps (if you need to install the heat shield) and a 13 mm wrench to install the fill fitting. A small inspection mirror wold be very helpful to assure that the connection at the lift bag was made properly (mine connects at the top). Jacking the car up so the rear wheels are totally unweighted will allow the springs to open up to facilitate the installation. I used an old speedometer cable to snake the hose through the frame. This was suppose to be the no drill version of the kit but I failed to see how that would ever happen since you have to mount the fill valve some where. I chose to mount it behind the License Plate. Once complete I put 15 PSI into the system just to see how it worked and to check for leaks. Going back under to inspect is also a must. I found that I needed to relocate the heat shield once the car was back on its rear suspension. There was an issue where one of the bags was inflated and the other was not. This turned out to be a bit of extra hose that ended up between the frame and the spacer. This was easily resolved by jacking the car up and correctly routing the hose. Once completed the system was charged to 15 PSI which resulted in a lift of a little over one inch. The maximum charge is 35 PSI which I believe I shall never need. Remember the PSI will act on the area of the lift bag (approx. 6 inches in diameter) so the 15 PSI will result in over 550 Pounds of lift in the rear. On a critical note. I never got an answer on what the function of the two large (6 inch) hose clamps were for. My guess was that they may have been slated to mount the heat shield. However to mount a heat shield to an exhaust pipe requires a clamp about half that size. They could have supplied a bit more hose. When I finished I had about two inches left over. This dictated where I located the fill valve. Am I pleased, yea I am. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a relatively painless way of correcting the ride height on your car. The fact that it has quite a bit of adjustment or can be reduced to near nothing is also a plus. ... show more

I use these bags on my 1971 GTO, I put a set on 16 years ago and just had to replace them this year. They hold their air and provide a very nice ride. I have them set for individual filling and can adjust each side individually. Great product.

  • I really like it
Used on a 70GTO Good: Does exactly what I wanted it too stiffened the rear, adjustable, not hard to install Bad: I can’t keep air from leaking air. The air line is real cheap. I changed mine to air shock line, as it is a heavier duty air line
