I was initially skeptical when I ordered the Air Health Haven Plus HVAC Air Purifier, but it has exceeded my expectations. We live in a newer house with noticeable off-gassing, which was confirmed through air sampling and chemical analysis. The smell is particularly strong when we return from a vacation, especially after leaving all the windows closed, causing the VOCs to accumulate indoors. Before our last vacation, I installed the Air Health Haven Plus in the AC air handler unit and had the AC running while we were away. When we returned, we were pleasantly surprised to find that there was no VOC odor in the house. Given that this was our first time using the purifier, I attribute this improvement directly to the unit. I also want to mention that the unit was easy to install. I do not have data on long-term performance or durability yet. Disclaimer: I am a regular customer who paid full price. Got two of these as we have an upstairs and downstairs hvac. Both of the bulbs arrived damaged and not working but they sent me new ones. I wouldn’t say the bulbs arrived the next day. Took at least another week +. One of my devices also wasn’t locking properly. Had to Jerry rig the locking mechanism for it to work properly .

UPDATE: September 1, 2022 Returned the Plus Version. Now shopping for replacement UV light only. I just could not justify the additional cost of the Plus when I was not detecting any odor removal whatsoever. It is unfortunate because I really like the design and the 10 year warranty of this product. I purchase this product based on its claim to help rid home of odors and to help clean HVAC evaporator coils of odor causing mold and bacteria. I am not questioning the science behind the use of UV lights to fight germs, mold, etc., however, the carbon filter included with this unit and its claim to absorb odors raises doubts in my mind. First, let me say installation could not be any easier as long as you have the rights tools. I resorted to using a jig saw with a metal cutting blade after tin snips failed. It also helps to have some metal HVAC tape (not duct tape) to help seal rough cut edges of your ductwork. I installed my unit in the supply duct directly over the Evap Coil on August 5, 2022 and as of the writing of this review I have noticed no reduction in odors or increase in indoor air quality. The UV lights may or may not be fighting mold and bacteria on the coil itself but there is no way to know for sure since there has been no increase in air quality or removal of odors. The carbon filter is supposed remove odors from the air, however, the vast majority of the air moving through the plenum does not pass through the carbon filter so I am unsure how it could be removing any odors from it. Honestly, I am on the verge of returning this unit and buying the version without the carbon filter.

I had my AC tune up and the company wanted to install something similar to this for 2k. I found this identical unit and installed it myself. Very easy to install and i was glad to see when i cut the hold mold on the coil pan. I hope this thing does its job and kills all of the mold. I doubt that it will actually scrub the air or filter it since it is only 4 inches inside a 2 foot duct. All in all even if just the light works i will be happy.

The only reason for 2 starts only is because the item I received is used! I was going to return it but it more hassle for me return it because it will take 2 weeks after they receive it for my refund.

My husband has a lot of allergies and he suffers from them pretty badly even when he takes medicines. After he had some rather severe allergic reaction including severe swelling in his face and nasal passages we started looking at other things we could do to help with his allergies beyond what we were already doing. We already have air purifiers that run in most of the rooms and we try to minimize dusts and molds but every additional bit of help decreases his allergy reactions. We decided to try adding this to our furnace to help clean thing before it went to the filters and before it circulate upstairs with the other air purifiers. It didn't make a phenomenal difference in our air quality, but it did make a modest difference for my husband's allergies. Every little bit counts and it could be the difference between another severe allergy attack and mild ones controlled through his normal meds. This isn't terribly hard to instal but I would say that 15 minutes is at best the time a professional with experience installing this might take. I would say it's more like an hour for a DIY homeowner like myslef with limited experience and that's when I had my handyman father help me. It requires cutting a hole into part of the furnace which is already about 15 minutes in itself, installing the plate, maybe another 5 minutes. Then you insert the actual light/filter, maybe another 5 minutes. And of course that doesn't include the time to read the instructions make the appropriate measurements and clean-up things. So, yeah, more than the time they suggest but not terribly long or difficult. You will need a nearby outlet to plug this into though.
