I bought this to keep in my wife's car because she has had a slow leak that nobody can seem to find. About once a month, we notice the tire is a few psi low... always when we're nowhere near a compressor. I tested it for the first time today, and it worked surprisingly well. It's not super fast -- perhaps 1 psi every 10-15 seconds. But for something I can pull out of the trunk, slap on a tire, push a button, and go sit back in the car and wait for it to automatically shut off... I'm pretty happy. I aired all 4 tires up to 33 psi and then checked them with a meter and also through the computer, and they all read 2 psi high. So not perfectly calibrated (hence the one star off), but adequate in a pinch. The unit got warm, but not unexpectedly hot. After running it for maybe 10 minutes total, the battery still reads full.

I really don’t know if it was a default in manufacturing but I wasn’t going to take the chance but within minutes of using, it got extremely hot and also started smoking. stopped it immediately and started a return so with that being said order at your own risk..

I had ordered a pump similar to this a few months ago for my car and liked it so much I figured I would order another one for my wife's car. I saw this one and it looked similar so I ordered it. Well, it is certainly not the same and I am somewhat disappointed in this unit from Hiwork. Here are my thoughts on this unit: PROS: 1) The display is pretty easy to see and read. 2) The functions and setting it up again are pretty easy and can be done without instructions. It might take a few tries but it is easy to figure out and use. CONS: 1) It uses a USB plug to connect to a phone charger but it does not use a USB C plug to plug into the pump. It has its own style plug so you cannot lose the plug or you will not be charging it back up. (see pic). 2) It is not a high volume air pump. I pumped my VW Passat tire from 29 PSI to 40 PSI and it took over 10 minutes. So, 10 minutes to raise the pressure by 11 PSI. That is slow. 3) It also uses a lot of the battery in that 10 minutes of pumping one tire 11 PSI. After I used it the unit was hot. So I let it cool down and then plugged into the charger. It took about 2 hours to charge back up. CONCLUSSION: It is just not a fantastic pump. It is slow, pumping and charging. The good is that it does work, if you are very very patient. RATING SYSTEM: I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, "that is useful". When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important. Here is my rating scale: 5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone. 4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well. 3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great. 2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don't count on it. 1 Star: Trash. I can't see any useful purpose for the product.

Finally had a chance to put this pump to use this weekend in a couple of different ways. First, we have a large oversized inflatable that we wanted to use at a group lake activity. We started off using a bicycle pump to blow it up, when I remembered we have this portable air compressor pump. It worked like a charm, and within minutes, we placed a 6' x 8' inflated bull in the water for everyone to bob up and down on as if they were riding a real bovine beast! Coincidentally, later in the same day, I discovered that one of the tires on my car was really low. Once again, this pump did the trick. The PSI reading was spot-on in accuracy, and my tire was back in normal range in just a few minutes. No need to go searching for a place where I don't have to pay for air (<--- shaking my head over that), and I'm able to easily story this pump in the back of my vehicle, in case I need it on the road. It charged up easily via the USB cord that is included with the purchase, and it comes with a variety of tips that facilitate the inflation of everything from car/bicycle/other tires to sports balls and other inflatable toys to even balloons! Easily one of the handiest items I have ordered on Amazon, and well-worth the $35 asking price (at the time of my review), considering the quality of the item I received, and how I have already benefited by using it! Highly recommend!
