This inflator is great! The only one I found that has two power sources, 12V and 20V rechargeable battery. It comes with a battery and charger, which charges the battery quickly. I use it with the battery as a portable inflator for my bike tires. Inflates them quickly (in seconds) and accurately. I have also used it to inflate my car tires. It takes longer to inflate my 19 inch SUV tires, but this is to be expected. Does the job though. I bought two I like them so well. The day after I got this my wife brought some inflatable loungers for the pool. It was easy to inflate them with this device. Then I tested the compressor when I had to top off four tires on my boat trailer. It had no trouble to inflate them to 50 psi. I just came back from a three week trip to Texas. Again, we used the inflator on a pool float we took along. This is an excellent value when you consider that you get it complete with battery and charger. Harbor Freight sells the same unit in red color under the BAUER brand for $49 as tool only. I would definitely buy this again and recommend to anyone. ... show more

Used this product for the first time today. I have always had a problem with my vehicle's TPMS and the mechanic I go to said it would cost about 2 grand to have it replaced, or I could just put air in my tires about once a month. I got tired of going all the way across town for free air. This product topped them off in about 5 minutes and I never left my driveway! Great deal for the price and so very compact and portable!     • Works, in a certain fashion.
This unit follows a common design and form factor for inexpensive battery powered inflators. It gets the job done inflating some bicycle, lawn equipment, and car tires. The main complaint is that the control sequence and the digital display are a bit wonky (doesn't function as expected). 1) The center of three buttons near the display is the power on / off and function (psi, kpa units) button. You press this to wake up the controls and display. After using the + and - buttons to set the desired pressure you then must press the left ('|' inflate) side of rocker switch to start the high pressure inflation. Given that somewhat intuitive procedure you might think that connecting the air hose to the tire valve prior to pressing the rocker switch would show the current tire pressure. But that doesn't seem to work. Furthermore after pressing the rocker switch and doing the inflation the display is sort of indecisive about the final pressure when the inflation stops. It seems to run the inflator to 1 or 2 psi over the target pressure where it ends the inflation and the displayed pressure then drops back 2 or 3 or sometimes 5 psi below the target pressure. So, for assurance that the target pressure is attained it might be advised to flip the rocker switch to center (off) then back to the left ('|' inflate) again to run the inflation a bit more to see if the pressure drop off after inflation stops is less (final pressure closer to target pressure). 2) Display instability while inflating and show current pressure. The displayed pressure rapidly fluctuates rather than steadily increasing as inflation progresses. As mentioned previously, there doesn't seem to be a way for the display to show current pressure in a tire prior to inflating - ie, just connect air hose to tire and read pressure on the display. ... show more

Battery kind of small, but overall good value for the money. I would have paid extra for a larger battery, but maybe I will find a larger one that fits, and chuck the 2 ampere one!

    • Thought it was broke
When I first got this I tried to just turn on the high pressure hose and use that to inflate my car tire but it would not turn on. It would work when not connected to the tire but not once I put it on the tire or put my hand over the hose output. The instructions say that you don't have to set the pressure but I guess that is not correct. Once I set the pressure to 40PSI and tried again, it worked. ... show more
