I’ve used several 3D printers, and the AOSeed X-Maker is clearly designed first and foremost for kids and beginners. Setup is simple, it’s fully enclosed, and the printer feels very safe to be around. One thing that stood out immediately is the build plate - it’s much softer and more flexible than what I’m used to, but it cools down very quickly once a print finishes. That’s a nice safety touch, especially for a printer that’s meant to be used by children. The printer works best when you stick to its built-in model library, which is actually pretty extensive. Those models are clearly curated for the machine and usually print easily with good results. You can load your own models from outside sources, but that’s where things can get a little weird. The software tends to be very aggressive about adding rafts and supports, even for simple models, which can hurt surface quality and make cleanup harder. This seems intentional. It’s clearly tuned to reduce print failures rather than optimize finish quality. Overall, this is a solid but expensive printer that prioritizes reliability, safety, and ease of use over flexibility and fine control. It’s a great fit for kids, families, or classrooms where successful prints matter more than dialing in slicer settings. It prints slowly, but produces surprisingly good quality prints. More experienced users will probably notice the limitations quickly, but for its intended audience, it does what it’s designed to do very well.

Thought id be parent of the year and gift this to my kids for their BIG Gift this year from us. Ive spent roughly 3 hours now getting their software to work on either an iphone or windows 11 laptop. I have every possibly option available to try to load their software and all options say "Network connection Error" theres no network error because everything else works. Known issue is you must connect to 2.4ghz wifi and not 5 or more. I tried this, and still have issues. Safe your self the headache and waste of time and money.

The media could not be loaded. My kids are 9 and 11 and they set it up, calibrated it, and printed a rubber band ring shooter in less than 20 mins. I didn’t help except to pick it up and put on the counter because it’s heavy. So it must be very easy to set up! When they print jobs that are all one piece, it’s great. When they print jobs that are multiple pieces that go together, the pieces break. It is not loud when it runs - it’s kind of a hum. It takes quite a while to print. The airplane took 1hr and 35 mins. If you’re getting it for kids to play with, it’s a good buy. If you’re getting it to actually print a lot of things or create large prints, I would recommend spending a few extra dollars for something more professional.

I’ve only printed four items with this 3D printer so far, but it has been flawless in those runs and I’m very happy with how reliable it is. The calibration process was easy and the instructions were well written, which made the setup smooth from the start. The companion app is fine. It does the job but isn’t incredible, which is totally fine given how well the printer itself performs. If you’re looking for a low-hassle 3D printer that just works straight out of the box, this one fits the bill.

I got this printer as I wanted to find a nice starter 3D printer, this one has all the functionality of bigger units so I gave it a try. It worked out great for the nephews who are total beginners. Setting it up was really easy and straight forward and getting to a printed 3D model was quick for impatient kids! The print quality was surprisingly good, I didn't think it would've been but glad to say I was wrong. The noise wasn't too bad either - compared to my other full size printers...it came in less noisy than those anyway. Overall...you get a really decent starter printer here that's great for kids for good spend - 4 stars from me on this!

I have two of the AOSEED 3d printers, because each of the boys has to have their own. One of them came with a 8 filament colors so they can share those. The models are both AI powered. One is the X-maker and the other is the X-maker joy. I thought the x-maker joy was smaller and less versatile than the x-maker. The 7 year old is using the x-maker joy and the 11 year old is using the x-maker which has a lot more capabilities and larger size unit. We have not had any issues with connectivity and the boys enjoy playing with he printer on the weekends, we shut it down during the weekdays so they can focus on school and sports. The instructions are easy, that goodness because I was out of my element using these. They picked it up quickly. I don't have any experience with these types but the print functionality looks pretty decent. We have these in the garage and didn't really notice much noise but we have two of these going.
