currently the pc building hobby is seeing some completely insane prices for things like GPU's, even the used market has lost it's mind. Cases costing several hundred dollars it all blows my mind. PSU's haven't escaped the madness either. This PSU was just what I needed. Affordable. Modular. It fit in the case I was using, a Lian Li A3 which is a fantastic case, but it's smaller form factor means building is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle. Cables are not super stiff and I was able to route everything around the back of the case and only use the cables I needed. The fact that this is a 80+ Gold means that I'm not wasting a bunch of power. I really only needed a 700w PSU but the cost just means I got so much more for for less. Having an 850w PSU just helps future proof this machine which makes me happy. ... show more

This is a pretty decent wattage and awesome power supply. It is perfect for the simple gaming rig provided you have the right parts. I used this power supply with my i7 and GTX 1650 and it powered everything just fine. In terms of connection, there are several connectors (one being super old). It comes with the main power connector, cpu power connector, four sata connectors, two PCI-E connector, two molex connector, and surprisingly one floppy connector (a bit old). I assume this could be a good replacement for some older hardware computers given the floppy connector. This power supply can work great with mid or full size towers. This power supply is easy to mount the power supply. I did a test on all of the connectors and they work fine. There was no short or issues with power. One thing that is REALLY nice about this power supply is the fan. The fan is really quiet for this price range and wattage. It keeps at a pretty low noise level even when the device is on a heavier load. It is pretty much dead silent and there is no coil whining or anything. It does not get really hot or too warm. The fan does a good job with cooling. This provides simple 500 watt worth of power which is more than enough for those smaller gaming rigs short of powering two graphic cards. I actually tried this on my 1080 TI gaming rig and it actually was able to power the rig without much issue. Again you can use this as a replacement for your older computer or gaming rigs if needed. Like many other lower end power supplies, you cannot remove connectors to make cable management easier. That being said, it does come with cable zip ties in order tie up the cables to make it easier to keep clutter down in your tower. The black color is pretty nice but it does get scratched up pretty easily so you notice the silver metal in the back. The cables are all long enough to work well in a full size tower from what I can tell (it also depends on how you are organizing your cable) and all the connector are secure. If you are going to organizing the cables through the back, you may run a little short on the full tower. Overall I think this is a good power supply for a simple gaming rig given you are not running more than one GPU. It is not super loud even when handling a higher load. It is relatively quiet most of the time which is pretty awesome. It comes with the four mounting screws and the standard power cord which feel a little flimsy but it works. There are several zip ties you can use to keep the cables organized. This is a pretty good power supply to have for a decent price. ... show more

Great PSU. Works like a charm when I originally received this ARESGAME AGT Series 850W PSU I thought it was DOA or defective. I'm so glad I was wrong turned out the unit has to be connected to either the motherboard or tester that's included in the box before it will power on and you see the psu fan spinning. I attached a photo of the psu tester below for anyone else like me who thought the PSU might've been defective. ... show more

I waited 3 days just for the PSU to arrive to complete my build. With all of the fragile components, I was very careful in rerouting cables, making everything look neat and nice (so I don't have to spend time tidying it up after or having cables caught by the fan). One hour later... I turned on the PC and... nothing happened! I spent another hour checking and double-checking my connections - did I plug in everything tightly and securely? Was there a short on the MB that caused the power not to power on?? Nearly another hour of trouble-shoot, I realized that there's a "testing kit" that comes with PSU. For that, I will give them the 1 star they deserve... Sure enough... After plugging in the testing kit I turned on the power - NOTHING. That's the proof in the pudding! The reason I am upset is that when I opened up the box when the package arrived, I was surprised to find out that there were no seals (nor stickers to seal the box). Although suspicious, I thought nothing of it, too eager to complete my build that I've been waiting 2 days for. Personally, I don't even mind if this is an open box, but they should say so. Least of all, if they have the audacity to resell a returned item to a customer, they should at least make sure that this product is working. Now I have to wait a couple of days to finish my build. ... show more
