The ice maker in our refrigerator has failed. I replaced the ice maker part in the door and it still doesn't work so that leaves the system board, which is pretty expensive, or replacing the fridge. We don't go through a lot of ice so I figured an external ice maker would do the trick. I bought this, and once every other week I run it for a few hours and it fills the hopper in the fridge door. I get almost the entire hopper filled by filling the water to MAX in the ice maker. It's quiet, makes ice fast, and works great for what we need. Bonus is that it's portable so if we have an outdoor party or need one for a friends event, we have that feature too. This unit is great.

I’ve had this ice maker exactly a year today. It was a great little ice maker. We all loved it. Unfortunately about 3 or 4 months ago it stopped notifying us on when the water ran low and it also started to make ice very slowly. This week it’s barely making any ice. We’ve turned it off and on and unplugged it. Basically did everything we could to get it going. I’m disappointed that it’s hardly working now. Great little machine but it doesn’t last long. UPDATE: WOW! This seller is by far the best i’ve come across on Amazon. I have to say i am extremely pleased with the sellers customer service. Shortly after I wrote the above comment, I was contacted by one of their representatives and was offered me a full refund!! I was not expecting a full refund after having had this handy ice maker for a year! The manager was also very kind, polite and understanding about the situation. I am so pleased with the fact that this seller cares about its customers. This seller’s customer service just made this ice maker even better hehe. ❤️ HIGHLY SATISFIED CUSTOMER 😁 I will definitely be repurchasing this same ice maker with my refund as we love it so much! So this was a must have with how often my wife and kids use ice. I bought during Black Friday and has easily paid for itself already. There’s just a few tips you must do to save yourself a headache. First one is after everything is put together cleaned and ready to use, let the bucket fill about 3/4 the way up. After it gets about close to full dump the ice back into the ice machine. You want the water as cold as possible when using the machine. The colder it is the quicker it makes ice and even makes the ice cubes way thicker lasting longer in your drink. It also makes the ice less “wet” when sitting in the tray. The second thing you have to do if you store the ice in your freezer like we do, is when you dump the ice into you freezer tray you have to mix the ice around with the other ice to prevent them to sticking together in giant chucks. I use the ice scooper they have to give everything a quick mix after dumping them and have never had an issue. I used to have to buy a bag of ice every 3-4 days in winter and from spring on every other day. This machine has saved me a ton of money so far. Just do those 2 little things and you’ll also love this ice machine. It’ll pay for itself in no time

I don’t usually write reviews but I intentionally came back on Amazon to write this. I like to read reviews before I purchase items and this ice maker is great! My fridge makes ice but it has not been reliable so I bought this as a back up. At night when I cook I just let it run and by the end of the night I will have a whole gallon ziploc of ice for the next day (unless my kids use it before I can get it in the bag) then I put it in the freezer for back up. The cubes are good size and it really works fairly quickly. I use brita filter water so the cubes taste good. It is a great buy for the money- I’ve had it for more than a month and I run it almost daily!

So I purchased this machine last year to make ice for everyday drinks. When I first started using it, I thought it worked well enough. The ice melted quickly but I assumed it had more to do with ambient temperature of the room and room temperature liquids. I had no faults with it other than the fact that it was a bit loud and put off more heat than I anticipated. A couple days ago I had to retire the machine because it stopped working. I started noticing a few weeks ago that the machine was getting a dark colored buildup in the water reservoir and ice compartment that I assumed was from the calcium and minerals in my water. I switched from filtered water to distilled water and ran a descaler solution through it. I figured I bought myself a month of use before I had to descale it again. But less than a week later this darker buildup came back. I knew it wasn't the water this time. I deep cleaned the machine once again I'm hopes that the buildup would go away. This went on for another couple of weeks before I took a closer look and realized that at some point, in less than a year, one of the components had cracked. I have no idea how this crack happened. You'll see in the photos how it's a hard to reach spot. Most of the time when the machine is on, this area isn't even visible. I think the dark brown buildup was actually some type of lubricant leaking into the machine. I'm disgusted now thinking about how I was drinking that with my ice. Right around the time I realized it was broken, I noticed the gears having a hard time trying to lift the gate that would clear the ice. Eventually, it wouldn't move anymore and all you could hear was the clicking of the gears. I also noticed after I removed the ice maker from my table that there was a black, soot like substance underneath the machine and next to where the fan was. Maybe the dark buildup in the water reservoir was smoke? Maybe I dodged a bullet? I tried to get in touch with the company to ask about a warranty (there's supposed to be a 12 month warranty with an option to extend it) but their website has NO PHONE NUMBER and the emails I've sent have gone unanswered. I bought a new ice maker from a different manufacturer and realized that the ice my Aglucky machine was making was subpar. Compared to my new machine the ice was thin, small (even on the large setting), and melted quickly. I'm certain there was some mechanical error the entire time I had that old machine. If you don't care about longevity of your ice maker then perhaps this is a good option for you. I actually can't afford to throw away money and I care about quality, especially when I'm paying 20%-30% more than similar machines on the market.
