This light works great for my little collection of small plants. It really only works for plants with less height. I placed it on a separate stand to allow for more variance in plant height. It comes on automatically every day at the same time and runs for 10 hours. There are no switches, so you either need to unplug and replug it in to reset the timer or you can download the app and do a lot more with the online features regarding the timer and intensity of the lights. I purchased one for myself a few years ago and love it so much I’ve since bought ones for my mom and sister too. While my original intent was simply to have a plant light that would help keep a plant alive in the rather dimly lit back corner of my home office, when COVID lockdowns made video conferences from home far more frequent, the adjustability of it’s light intensity made it a very attractive background nicely illuminating the plant and the surrounding walls to give things a very professional appearance when so many peoples backgrounds were their kitchen. The app works great and provides both the ability to adjust the lamp live, but also program it for regular schedules. You guys know how rare it is to pull something out of the box and instantly love it. But I fell in love with this lamp so fast, I've had it unboxed for about 30 minutes and already threw out the packaging. Let's talk about what I love about this grow lamp: * it is really nicely manufactured. It feels solid and the design is quite striking. It looks just like the pictures! It was super easy to assemble. It has a weird barrel connect that the LED "hood" screws into. I was dubious that this would make a good connection but you've just gotta believe! * The light is _not_ pink or cool blue. You can see some little pin points of blue and red lights around this rim but the light it casts on the plant is a nice I'd say Warm Daylight. Probably somewhere between 5000 and 6000 kelvin. They recommend about 4" between the top of the plant and the light. I've got it set about this distance and the top of the leaves clock in at about 1300 lux (no extra daylight). Pretty decent for a little guy! * I didn't realized that this lamp has a touch activated shade and a built in timer. I've seen this touch functionality before but LET ME TELL YOU WHY THIS IS SO COOL. Picture this, you've got a nice plant on this tabletop lamp next to your couch. But then it's the evening and you want to watch a movie. So you have to turn off the lamp, which disrupts the timing cycle and you're going to have to remember to turn it on again before dashing off to work. EXCEPT NOT. The timer cycle is set upon _plugging in the lamp_. If you touch the shade to turn off the light (or even just dim it!), you don't disrupt the timer. OMG, it sounds so small but it feels absolutely luxurious to tap the light on and off as I please. I have it next to my PC and now I can temporarily turn the lamp off when I'm gaming without a second thought I'll edit my review if I experience anything later that detracts this from being 5 stars. The only thing I'm wondering is what will happen when the LED burns out. I know it's a long ways down the road but it feels a little weird buying something I can't maintain. I did look at the manufacturers website and it seems like they sell replacement parts for other products. Maybe they have/will have replacement hoods for this unit as well? ... show more

Good light to keep my succulents alive during long gray days, but honestly not enough for the mesembs and other biggest sun-lovers -- I added some higher-lux lights after a bit. I think this one tops out around 500 per head. It's also pretty sturdy, but if all your plants are close together, it might get tippy, so be prepared to weight or shim it. ... show more

DO NOT BUY. Purchased in November 2023. Used during the winter. Off all summer. Turned on again recently in September 2024. One of the three lights won’t follow the set schedule. On and off at random. Very disappointing. Also, DO NOT BUY, as they’re discontinuing the app. Now, it’ll only work with the already finicky touch on/off function? Huge waste of money. ... show more

I purchased 2 of these for plants that aren't getting a ton of direct light. I was very impressed that within several days, each plant starting perking up. After a couple months, they are growing like crazy. The light will telescope up and the prongs are pretty decent. One use is in a pot full of orchid bedding. Because of this, the light is a little wobbly if you touch it but that's due to the medium used. My other potted plant holds it well. I'm considering getting one or two more. I have a somewhat dark house and I love plants! This light allows me to put plants on shelves or around the house and have light. It has an automatic time to turn on in the am and off at the pm. Easy to use and works well. Love having the light “feature” the plants as well!
