Bought it for my daughter's college dorm room. Setup of the passcode is quick and easy. It does come with predrilled holes on both the back and bottom so you can bolt down to the floor or a wall. Bolts are included too but I forgot to include in the pictures. A cable to use instead of bolts would be a nice addition. The physical keys (There are 2 of them) are a plus in case the batteries die. My thoughts have not changed based on the items pricing. I would say it's more of a "Lock box" then a safe. It looks like a safe and it works like a safe. But it is only made 10 gauge sheet steel instead of 3/8 plate steel. "But, lets face it" it only cost $80. 3/8 steel cost a lot more money. In other words. "You get what you pay for" And "It is what it is"...... If all you need is a lock box, "Thumbs up" ... show more

Arrived with white smudges on both the outside of the safe and the inside of the door. I feel like this is a used safe given how messy it is, except I paid for a new one so that shouldn't be the case. Did anyone else get a dirty safe in the mail?

Bought this to provide a secure place for my kid to put valuables when he's living with housemates who he doesn't really know. The safe is a good size and the mounting holes are large enough to use with a standard cable lock to cable the safe to a bed frame or similar for more security. The safe arrived in good shape, but the batteries that had been put in the box with it had been flattened when the styrofoam packing material broke up and allowed the safe to crush them. It also crushed one of the two manual keys that can be used to open the safe, leaving one. The only other issue is the door fit is extremely tight. There is nothing to hook your fingers in to pull the door open, making it very very hard to get the door open even after unlocking the safe. I opened and closed the door several times hoping it would free it up some, but it didn't seem to help. The safe is not bent. It appears there is just not enough clearance between the faces of the two locking bars and the door frame. The locking bars drag, creating a lot of friction, and as there is no good handle to pull on, it makes it hard to open. ... show more

The safe is simple and sturdy. A little overpriced in comparison to others but I honestly only purchased it for the Aegis lable (Navy Vet). Wish it were either slightly larger or slightly cheaper. My only thought was that it had smaller interior space than I expected. Not going to fit a valuable document like a birth certificate or something you don't want scrunched up. ... show more
