  • Nice Thick Tarp and Sturdy Construction
Color: Beige Size: 10'x15'
My biggest concern with a shelter like this was that the tarp would be the same cheap kind of tarp that you get at Walmart. I can tell you the tarp for this shelter is made of very thick material, rip-stop PVC, but not at all like the ones sold in camping supplies. I would even call this a 'PVC Canvas'; it is so nice. The shelter was delivered in two boxes, one with all the poles, and one with the canvas and connectors. We did the assembly with two people, but one person could potentially do this alone. It took my wife and me about two hours in total. The directions were very nicely written in American English, not in 'Chinglish.' Diagrams were plentiful and made assembly a snap. When we separated all the parts, a few of the poles had small dings from shipping, but it was not enough to compromise the structure, so we went ahead and assembled it. I may call them to get some replacements, but I'm not overly concerned. The rods and connectors were all neatly packed and, at first blush, look nice and solid. Also, every piece literally snaps into another, which makes assembly very simple. You build the roof first, which is nice because it gives you an idea of the area it will take up, and it can be easily repositioned for optimal placement. Next, you assemble one wall, not two. It is important to only do one wall and then cover it with the doors and roof/wall tarp before erecting the second wall; otherwise, you will need to be up on ladders with two people. Every pole has a sturdy foot at the bottom that stakes to the ground. All of the joints feel nice and thick and super sturdy. Time will tell. When putting on the canvas, you put the doors on first, which are bungeed to the frame, but the roof/wall canvas is where this shelter really stands out. Many other shelters out there have separate roofs and walls which tie to the frame with grommets. The issue I've seen with them is that the grommets tear. Advance Outdoor instead engineers this shelter using a unique belt and pole system with no grommets. The roof and walls are one large piece of canvas. The canvas has a belt on the front and back door that tie down on the four corners using a ratchet strap. It works like a hoodie on a winter coat when you tighten it around your face. Then there are wall poles that slide through tubes built into the tarp near the base of the walls, and horizontal poles clamping those to the vertical wall poles. The ratchet straps and the horizontal wall poles are how the roof/wall canvas is held onto the structure, so there are no grommets to tear or rip. Once the canvas and doors are on the structure, you raise the second wall. At this point, there is some tweaking to get the canvas centered, and it helps to have two people and a ladder at this point. The horizontal poles on the wall should end up about 6 inches off the ground. Another nice feature of this shelter is that you get 12 very solid metal stakes that are about a foot long to give the structure a nice deep anchor into the ground. Overall first impressions: 1. Nicely packed and all parts present. 2. Easy for two people to assemble with only a rubber mallet needed to hammer stakes into the ground. 3. PVC Canvas is an impressive thickness and has a quality feel with a big 'Advance Outdoor' logo. 4. Poles and especially joints seem to be very good quality, with some minor shipping dings on 3 poles. 5. Smart 'no grommet' design of the main roof/wall canvas to avoid the common issue with other shelters. 6. Assembled in only about two hours. 7. Overall, a great experience." ... show more

  • Very well built
Color: Dark Gray Size: 7'x12'
Took a little time to put together but its very well built, canvas is tight , im using full propane tanks on the corners to hold it down in the high winds, so i absolutely love this 7x12 , polls are about 2" in diameter, super easy to put together, and i don't think im going to have a problem with the snow , i have owned similar tents that where bigger and never had a problem ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised
Color: Beige Size: 10'x20'
10'x20' model. I would give 4.8 stars if that was an option. The current version of this garage is well made with a heavy tarp material. Metal structure is good--around 130 pounds of steel tubing and fittings. All pieces were accurate length, shape, and the doors and tarp fit perfectly. The doors and tarp weigh around 40 pounds total. The tarp pulls down tight on the ends with the ratchet straps. Good design. Copied from shelter logic probably. Very easy to set up. 2 experienced people could do it in an hour. It took me 4 hours working alone, including anchoring it down--see below. The 24"x24" screened vents are a great idea. I will leave them propped open. Not sure what the wind will do the the little Velcro props The tarp extends out onto the ground at both sides. I put down long 2x4s on the tarp and placed seven 8x8x16 concrete blocks on the 2x4s on each side. I placed foam sheet between the concrete blocks and the sides of the garage to keep the blocks from chafing the tarp. If you push the bottom rail down when you finalize it and tighten the wing nuts, the rail tightens the tarp nicely. Not quite like the rendering in the ad, but close. I also used the included metal stakes, but they are inadequate to hold the garage down in a wind. Will the tarp hold up to the sun? Will the structure survive a 50mph gust of wind? Stay tuned. A similar shelter logic garage weighs almost double, but it costs almost double, so take your pick. ... show more

  • Perfect fit!
Color: Beige Size: 8'x14'
This car port is exactly what I needed for my Polaris Slingshot. The material is very thick (like a tarp) and poles are well made. It has withstood major rain and high winds. It took two of us to put it together under two hours. What I didn’t realize when putting together the bottom poles is that there are sleeves on the tarp that they go in. (I had to unscrew and retighten the poles to put them inside) These sleeves secured the bottom well. It really is easy to put together. We obviously didn’t read the directions, hence why we missed that part lol We made slight modifications. I placed bricks on the bottom of the tarp to not allow unwanted animals inside (the tarp lays well on the ground for that reason). We also secured it with two extra heavy duty anchors because I live in high winds. Lastly, I use a light pole to help roll up the tarp for the door opening. (It’s easy with two ppl, but rolling the pole in the tarp makes it super easy alone. Other than those minor things, this car port has enabled me to get the toy that I’ve wanted for years but didn’t have a garage! Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Easy setup. Seems to work well
Color: Dark Gray Size: 8'x14'
I got this for temporary storage of my trike. Large enough to fit it through the openings on the end. Setup was very easy. No tools needed. Really didn’t need much of the instructions. However, they were easy to understand. People that said it was difficult probably could not put a nut onto a bolt without instructions. I installed completely by myself in less than 2 hours. Seems to be waterproof. So far, it’s done well. Held up well even through a pretty major storm. Looks to be a good summer storage for my needs. Seems to be a good value for the money. ... show more

  • Very sturdy!
Color: Dark Gray Size: 10'x20'
This is amazing! Put it up in June 2024 and it is now march 2025. It’s protected my car from rain, hail, snow, and strong winds. I’m in Colorado and the winds here can be brutal. 30 mph winds with 50 mph wind gusts and it’s holding strong. Make sure you install it properly and it will definitely be worth every penny you spend. ... show more
