We ordered this bed rail for my mohter-in-law who is recovering from hip replacement surgery. She has bragged already about its sturdiness and how much it helps just to have something to hang on to as she gets in and out of bed. When we first put it together, we had placed it near the middle of the bed (like shown in the picture), but she really doesn't need anything to keep from rolling out of bed, she needs the stability of the bar to grab onto. Once we moved it up toward the top of the bed (beside the pillows) she could grab the bar to push herself to a standing position. I think she may keep using this bar long after her hip has healed. We also found the pocket useful to hold small items like the remote or a packet of tissues or even her phone. This bed rail is a good value. It's not too shaky, was easy to assemble and all around has been a great asset for her.

I originally ordered this, grateful for a chance to preview/review it in preparation for needing it for an elderly relative. I want to have it on hand for her visits, so I thought I'd test putting it on the bed and practice getting it ready to use. However, right about that time, I ended up hurting my knee, making it difficult for me to get into and out of bed. Immediately, I asked my husband to get the bed rails for me to use so that I'd have something to hold on to when going from lying down in bed to standing. They were easy to quickly assemble and fit right into the side of the bed. It worked beautifully, and it was sturdy enough that I felt very secure putting my weight into it to help me up and keep my knee stable. I can say from firsthand knowledge that this is a great value for the cost!

We originally got this as a replacement after our three-year-old’s previous bed rail broke, and it works well for our needs. It gives her something sturdy to grab onto so she can pull herself up onto the bed, and while it doesn’t cover the entire side, it has still helped prevent her from rolling out so far. The included Velcro storage bag is a nice touch. It is perfect for holding all the little toys she insists on having at bedtime. The bar itself feels stable and was easy to put together. I also really like that the top half can be removed easily. During the day, we take it off so the bed is more open for play, which is super convenient. The materials feel durable overall, and it seems like it will hold up well. Overall, it’s a solid, practical option if you’re looking for something to assist with getting in and out of bed or to add a bit of extra safety.
