I picked this Transom saver up to replace my old one that got ran over by a truck and bent. The quality looks and feels to be very good quality just like my old one and the fit was a direct replacement. Installation is very easy and will help save your boats transom during trailering to and from the launch site. The V notch fits my Outboard engine very snug and has protective rubber so it will not scratch your lower unit. I have always used one of these on my boats to take the stress off the boat transom especially on bumpy roads. In my opinion you can not go wrong with one of these units added on to save you a major repair bill with your boat. ... show more

I have a 1988 center console boat with an even older 140 hp outboard motor. I have been worried about the weight hanging off the transom and wanted to support it better. I have used these transom savers in the past and decided this was the route I would go again. This makes it more secure and I have less bounce on the transom now. I don't want to rebuild the transom on this old boat. This should prolong the life of my boat. well worth the investment. ... show more

I requested this item to replace my old transom saver that was showing its age. This item works ok, but just not what I am used to. My old one is a much heavier and also has a shock absorber built inside the tubing. However, I do believe this transom saver will work as advertised.

Very nice to have on any boat, takes the stress off of your transom and keeps your boat happy. Make sure to check your length from your trailer to the lower unit of your engine and and you're good to go. Really easy to put together and start using!

    • Poor materials, cheap made.
Holes were not drilled out, adjustment height is very limited, bumpers are plastic and not soft. I returned.

Very. Cheaply made. Not Real sturdy don't have much faith in the aluminum Brackets. Better to pay more and get a good product.
