I have lumbar stenosis which insurance will not cover a proven, modern and approved surgery . so anyway the sent me to a medical place that cost me $800 for the visit (15 minutes) and $1200 for a back brace. I try to stay active so I need a few braces kept in different places. Work, Car, home. I bought this one which works similar as the $1200 prescribed one and it feels better due to the fact I can breathe while using it. Even with a bad back that pinches the nerves off to my legs I keep hiking and and because this brace is flexible I can take comfortable deep breaths while using it. And the price is great.

I've tried alot of different back braces. I have mid to lower back issues that causes a constant dull pain and days where the pain is a little more intense. These are the days I like to wear a brace to stabilize my spine and make it easier to move around and get things done or to get in a good workout without too much movement. I'm a5'7" and 140 lbs with a waist of about 30". First off - this brace does hold everything in place, initially. The more I moved around or went from standing to sitting or sitting to standing, it tended to ride up a bit and I had it pretty tight. I thought the stays were a nice addition, but they were a little too much for normal activity, so I liked that I could remove them or I could replace them with plastic and more flexible stays. They aren't the easiest to remove and replace, so I had to be sure to leave them extended a half inch outside the slot so I can easily pull them out. But the one thing I was really surprised with this brace was the lack of added compression from the adjustable straps. In other braces I've worn, once you get the belt where you need it and secure it, you then tighten the adjustable compression straps and if placed just right you feel the added pull and support. With this brace, it didn't seem to make any difference from what I was already feeling for support. All in all, it's a well made, very durable brace. It just didn't check all the boxes for me.
