The one I got makes small cakes. I didn't realize there were different sizes. It works great but must be on a sturdy surface. The wire bends a little at times but seems to be sturdy. Easy to use. Id say a 9 out of 10...only because the wire bending makes me feel its going to break.

And decided to try another brand as that one kept allowing the cakes to spin right off while winding and it was hugely frustrating and felt unsteady. This one is GREAT! I finally bit the bullet and got one of these after YEARS of stubbornly hand-winding my yarn and I have zero regrets! It make very neat, compact yarn cakes that pull out from the center. It is a tad flimsy, as it's made of plastic, but I don't see that causing any sort of issue. The yarn spinner works great. The yarn guide is a waste of money - don’t bother. It’s easier to use your fingers. The yarn winder works extremely well but you’re limited to the size of the ball of yarn spun because the wire is not adjustable and the arm is not as large as others.
