Description

The Adesso Smart Switch brings science to lighting. Our Smart Switch product are specially designed to be adjustable in order to sync with the human circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm refers to your sleep/wake cycle and is influenced by sunlight. By adjusting your lamp’s color temperature throughout the day you will simulate the natural progression of the sun, helping to regulate the body’s internal clock to improve sleep habits and overall personal health. For example, turning your lamp on full brightness at a cool color temperature (such as 5,000K) will signal the brain to wake up and be alert, reducing melatonin production. This would be best to use during the day while you are indoors, simulating the sunlight you should be receiving while the sun is high in the sky. Dimming your lamp and setting the color temperature to a warn 2,700K would be best to use while reading before bed. This type of light simulates the sunset, and send signals to your brain to produce melatonin, helping you fall asleep easier.

First, let me say that I had seen this light show up in my Facebook ads for at least a year now. I was always fascinated by how nice it looked and I was always a bit curious. Well, a few weeks back I saw that there was an open box (Amazon Warehouse) available for an excellent price so I didn’t hesitate. Light required no assembly for me. Just plug and play. It’s really quite big and seems much larger than it does on the website, even with the measurements. The lamp build quality is really nice. It has a heavy stainless steel base that sits nicely and doesn’t lend itself to tipping. The shade itself feels like quality. Not cheap or thin like you might find on an ikea lamp. I have no complaints about the build. There are simply touch controls on top to turn it on/off, adjust the brightness and change the hue. There are multiple hues of white. Several warm and several cool variations. I prefer the warm so I don’t use the cool hues too much but each hue is really nice. Even though there are only a few, they each look quite good with the lamp. Adjusting the brightness makes it easy to find what you like and it does get quite bright. Enough to provide more than ample ambient lighting in a large room. It looks great while on and the shade diffuses the light very well. You don’t see the light rod inside through the shade. Alexa was easy to set up. Just used the QR code that came with it on the manual to set it up. I had it on a few days before setting it up with Alexa, so you’ll probably need to unplug it and plug it back in if you don’t set it up right away or Alexa will struggle to find it. I do wish it was compatible with Google home but it’s not a big deal. Overall, I love this light. I say you get what you pay for because lamps can be expensive. If you go for something cheap like IKEA, the light may work just fine but there is a difference when you pay more for a good light. There is a high level of quality here with this light. It lights up a room perfectly and even at half brightness, it is more than enough to light up our living room at night. I was surprised to see so few reviews - I thought this lamp would have many more purchasers and reviewers. I can say I am thoroughly happy and can easily recommend it.
