Mine was put to the test when opening the package. The result after physical inspection showed that the previous owner took very good care of this macbook pro 13” with M1 chip. Hardly noticeable scuffs on the base corners, screen is free of scratches and key travel when pressed felt as new! Ran full diagnostics of system operation, battery at a healthy 89% with 365 charge cycles indicates below average for a late 2020 model year. With apples stated battery life charge cycle of 1,000, this says 2+ years before battery replacement, longer if you run with charger. M1 processor health numbers are excellent. With iOS system updates through end of 2027 and 2 years of post 2027 security support, this computer has solid operation through end of 2029! Overall very pleased with my purchase. ... show more

Ordered an MBPro M1 8gb Ram/512 storage to use with Garageband. I already have an M4 Air for my personal admin stuff but wanted a laptop that I can record sound bits with but nothing too crazy. But music files take up lots of storage. The Samsung external HDs are around 189$ and i thought why not just get an M1. I can honestly say for just a little over 500$ after tax I’m glad I did it. The unit came with 88% battery capacity/365 cycles. All the keys work, very minor scratches on the side but these don’t bother me. Came with charger, no dead pixel on screen, no scratches on screen. Yeah it needed a wipe down but it just seemed like who owned this before actually used the laptop as intended. It’s zippy and migration from one laptop to another was less than 45 mins. ... show more

I was looking for an affordable MacBook with an M series chip and I am so far really impressed. The MacBook works perfect for school for me and I am able to access everything I need with a processor that will last me for years to come. Setup was easy and flawless. Speed and actual Apple MacBook Pros are amazing. I took a gamble with all the great reviews and it did not pay off. Small ding on a corner, not a huge deal, but the scratch on the screen literally literally in the middle makes it difficult to use. It’s not hard to notice and I’m very disappointed quality control didn’t catch this. Now they are making me pay to ship (return) a laptop that should have never been sent to me. To summarize laptops from Apple 5 stars. Quality control from this refurb store for my laptop 1 star. The boot up and function were all there. The value was 4/5 stars, but the inconvenience has me give them a 2 star overall for this experience. I was forced to begin looking for another laptop after my Macbook Pro Mid-2012 is now “obsolete”. I stumbled upon this renewed unit, and my thoughts are below. Cons: - I wouldn’t say the laptop I received was in “excellent” condition, despite this being advertised. There were some little nicks and scratches (especially on the corners of the computer) that were visible to me even more than 12 inches away. Thankfully, the screen was perfectly clean and intact. - Aside from the cosmetic condition, I’d say it arrived kind of dirty. There were little bits of dust and grit upon opening, and I can tell that under the keys can do with a blow-out. - Mine came with 229 battery cycles, and 89% battery capacity. This is well within what is advertised, so I can’t complain. However, I saw other reviews where folks had as little as 20 charging cycles and 100% capacity – JEALOUS! Still, I got what was advertised. - There was no charger in the box, not even a generic one. I contacted the seller, who issued a $20.00 refund. Given that this charges with USB- C, I can work around this, but the inconvenience was unnecessary. - I wouldn’t say it’s a beast in terms of speed. While I do run some heavy apps like LogicPro X, the performance isn’t much better than my old Macbook (16GB Ram, 512SSD), which this laptop is intended to replace. Pros: - It’s fast enough, and it would be zippy for everyday usage and photo editing, light to moderate video editing, and light to moderate music production. There may be some struggle if you move into the heavy stuff, but it would still perform albeit slower. - The size and feel are nice. Had to get used to this, because it’s so much thinner and smaller than previous one. ... show more
