RUNS SMALL AND NARROW - but it's an excellent value. The most important thing to know is that they run small by a half to one full size, and a wide fits like a normal. My feet could be used as a mold for making an exact size 12 shoe - I don't even try shoes on, I just buy a 12 and it always works. Not the case here - I couldn't fit into a 12 at all - my toes couldn't even get into the steel toebox. A 13W worked well. The compare favorably to an almost identical pair of Irish Setter boots (Red Wing's non-US Made brand), except they were 25% of the price and maybe 90% of the quality. The leather upper was far better than I was expecting. They say that a boot that fits comfortably when it's new won't last, and I've found that to be somewhat true. Boots that I used daily for years and came to love were horrible for a long time. Using that logic with this boot, I expect that they'll last about 75% as long as my brand name work boots (Ariat, Red Wing, Irish Setter, Stanley, etc.) They fit somewhat comfortably now, unlike the others, but they still have the stiffness in the upper and the sole that tell me they'll hold up pretty well. My one complaint (excluding the tight toebox and the narrow sizing) is that they seem to have used wood screws to hold the sole on. They look to be ornamental, or maybe just to hold until the glue sets, because one was already missing when I got the boots. One was put in sideways, so I had to take it out immediately because it would have been scraping on the ground in a few weeks. I'm not worried about marking up floors because these will be used in an industrial environment, but if you were working in people's homes, beware. Also, if you're working on any hard surface (concrete, steel plate, etc.) once that screw extends past the rubber sole, it'll be like having a ball-bearing stuck in the treads. So yeah, good value, quality better that expected, only consider the wide sizes, get a size larger, and they need to stop putting wood screws in the soles. ... show more

I've purchased these boots before a few times because usually, they hold up very well to the demands of the environment I put them into. Lots of bending, walking, climbing on and off trucks etc, I can get about 1-2 years out of them before they are completely worn out on the sole, replacing the laces multiple times throughout the life. However, this time around they didn't make it a month before the sole cracked and began separating on the right foot and the laces already frayyed to the point I'm afraid of tying too tightly after a weeks wearing. Now to explain, I haven't gotten them wet, or exposed to chemicals, heat etc. Just worn 8-12hrs a day and alot of walking and climbing. The soles hardly show any wear at all but the heel on the right boot separated already. Really bummed because they look great, normally last and function beyond expected means and clean up well. Currently switched back to the pair they replaced that were worn out but still useable for the time being until I source a new pair. ... show more

Love love love these boots! They fit great and they look great and the quality is great. I've never had a pair of high quality steel toe boots, and these are everything I'd been dreaming of even though they aren't crazy expensive. Ignore the worn look in my pictures; I've had them for a while and worked in them a handful of times before writing this review. Of course they needed a bit of breaking in at first, like all good boots do. So don't be put off thinking they're "uncomfortable" because they absolutely aren't. I remember hearing a saying a while back, that good quality boots are uncomfortable at first and get more comfortable with wear. And lesser quality boots will SEEM comfortable at first, and get more and more uncomfortable as you wear them. Not that these weren't UNcomfortable at first, but they definitely feel even more awesome after a good breaking in. I initially found these boots very comfortable, but unfortunately, after only three months of use, they are already falling apart. The eyelets keep popping off—one came loose on the first day, and more have continued to do so every time I wear them. Additionally, the tongue of the boot is starting to deteriorate. The break-in period took long than expected I had a soft toe pair without steel toe and they broke in with a week lasted 7yrs before they wore out the left toe boot had a slight scratch in the leather Boots seem well made hope they last as long as my fist pair can't beat the price!
