I suffered a serious 3rd degree burn from a faulty battery pack. No one should order these socks. I was on a motorcycle ride in Yosemite, California. Before the start of the ride, I turned the socks on. When I turned the left side on, I noticed the red battery light was much dimmer than the right side. I had just put brand new batteries into both battery packs, so I thought it was odd but didn't think anything more of it. As we rode along, the right foot began to warm, but not the left. About 20 minutes later, as we were on a curvy mountain road, I felt pain in my left calf. At first I thought I was being pinched, but it quickly got worse. I was wearing riding boots, heavy jeans, and motorcycle tour pants with a wind and thermal liner (it was about 38 degrees). Because of where we were (curvy road along the side of a mountain), I was unable to stop or pull off the road. The pain grew much more intense, and I reached down and pulled the battery pack away as best I could given the fact that I was still trying to ride. When I was finally able to stop, about 10-15 minutes later, I discovered that my leg had been severely burned by the battery pack. The plastic of battery pack itself looked as if part of it had melted. I am attaching a photo of my leg (taken then next day), and will send a copy of the partially melted battery pack if needed. When I stopped I checked and the Duracel AA batteries were properly installed, however, the end of one of the battery terminals appeared to be out of place. It wasn't like that during the battery installation. Needless to say, my leg is still not healed from the burns (5 days later). At the very least, I expect a full refund. I would also urge anyone considering these socks to pass until the defect is corrected. ... show more

    • Waste of money i think

They do not get as hot or warm as I expected I been wearing them outside testing them out if had them on for about 1 hour now and I would say they at leasted keep your toes from getting cold so far but the heat still sucks they could be make a lot better in my opinion, its also only november right now and its 65 degrees out side and I can still feel little cold through them so come Christmas when I have snow I can tell they are barley gonna help id rather just buy the disposable warmers from maverick every morning... All in all I would say DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE ... show more

This is my first pair of electric socks and I’m hooked. Less than about a second after your turn them on, you feel them working on the top of your toes. Actually, the only warming zone is on top of your toes; however, that’s all I need. This season, I wore this pair of socks, another thin wool sock, and 400 gram insulated boots down into single digits and I was comfortable. I think the wool blend of material really them apart. You can expect around 4 hours of run time out of Energizer Max batteries. I haven’t tried them with lithium or rechargeable yet, and I will update the review if I remember. 10/10 would buy again. ... show more

These. Socks. Are. AMAZING! Winters are extremely cold where I live, so cold feet and everything becomes a really bad discomfort for me. It becomes almost unbearable to walk and makes my days a little bad. When I found these and wore them, my day grew way much better. I had toasty feet throughout the day and felt comfortable in the cold. What’s good about these is that they’re rechargeable as well! So multiple uses are allowed on these with satisfaction and so on. What’s also a great factor about these socks is that they last all day long. So for people that work long shifts in the cold outside or want to keep warm inside, i recommend these! ... show more

    • Warm socks but could use some tweaking

The socks work great for their intended purpose. However, the heating pad on top of the tops is awkward and would be more desirable under the toe area. An additional heating pad for the heal area could help to improve the design as well. The single heat setting is a bit much. An adjustable heat setting would be more desirable with a possible auto shutoff when a specific temperature has been reached. The battery packs on the side of the socks are uncomfortable. An alternative battery design/ source of a smaller size could improve this issue. Over all, the socks function as intended and they do get the job done. They were pretty comfortable and warm as I had hoped. I wish they also provided batteries. You would think for the price batteries would be included. Bear in mind, these socks use up six batteries at a time, so energy wise, they are quite costly. Other than that they are fine.

I purchased these socks for my 10 year old son and after an hr he started crying and yelling "my leg is burning". He suffered 3rd degree burns as you can see by my pictures. This product should be banned and the company should be held responsible! Amazon take note!
