This worked perfectly. I have a 7.1 system and had a car sub (12 in 4 ohm dvc) collecting dust. That car sub is rated 300rms and 600watt max and this amp powers it just fine. Almost too good. Shaking the floor. Had to turn it down. Crossover works well. I put mine is normal mode. LFE did nothing. This is bridged from my 12 in. Monoprice powered subwoofer. I could not get it to function. I checked input voltages RCA inputs, wiring the sub direct to a speaker output. Turns out that I had mis marked the sub connections. Sucks bad when it's your mistake. But you have to call it, so the manufacturer does not take the hit for your poor vision. Does work as expected ! There is a pop when powered on but other than that it works fine. ... show more

I connected a 61/2 inch tuned subwoofer to this unit and it clipped (speaker popping sound) at a very low volume. I have it now on a FOSI amp and it plays quite loudly with no clipping.

I purchased this more as a temporary after my $1200 subwoofer went out hoping to get it fixed. Since I seldom use high volume anymore this subwoofer has worked surprisingly well. My other subwoofer is no longer manufactured and so no one has parts. This one seems to work well so I am keeping it even though it isn't as good as my last one. But good enough. ... show more

This item worked "ok" for about 6 months (it never delivered the punch that the attached 10" wall mounted sub could deliver) and then two nights ago it made a loud electronic squeal and died. I checked the power block, fuse, my receiver, everything I could think of that might have affected it. Then went to the manufacturer site, which referred me back to the reseller (Amazon) and Amazon provides no support for it. To add insult it is out of the returnable period so I am out 200.00 dollars pure and simple. After having a Creative Desktop PC Amp that is still running after 12 years, this is unacceptable, I will NEVER by anything from Goldwood again what a racket. ... show more

Really adds base. Since the amp is not remoted it means it stays on all of the time - bad. The only other bad is the grill tends to fall off if bass is on high. Otherwise, look great, easy to install and sound great! Highly recommend.

I have a passive subwoofer. My theater receiver burned out, my replacement lacks a powered subwoofer out port. Ergo, I need a way to power the subwoofer. Enter this amplifier. I ran a high quality audio line from the receiver to this amp, hooked up the subwoofer speaker wires and bingo. My receiver now sends a usable signal to the subwoofer that I can control. The subwoofer works well. The system functions well. Best of all, I can control the subwoofer through this unit. It booms or quietly thumps however I want it. That is a nice touch. ... show more

Good value amp in normal mode, very weak in LFE mode! Use normal mode only! I am using it to power a bass shaker from my LFE subwoofer signal, but it's too weak in LFE mode, so I use normal mode with crossover frequency turned all the way to 150 Hz. (Also I send the signal to both L and R with a Y-splitter.) It says that the frequency response is 50-150 Hz, which would be a pity. Actually, its top frequency can be varied from 50-150 Hz with the crossover knob. When I set it to 50 Hz, there's still plenty of bass below that. It takes two hands to turn the amp on or off: one to push the button, and the other to hold the whole amp down, because it is lightweight and its power button has a strong spring.
