I was very surprised at how much I like this calculator. I have been using a Monrow machine for over 40 years but was forced to replace it. This smaller machine is just right and takes up less room on my desk. It has all the features as my older machine, as well.

Perfect calculator for me! I have had this for a few months and I use it daily with no issues. The keys are big enough for my fat fingers and it feels very well made. It is easy to clean with a wet wipe or Clorox wipe also. No complaints from me.

This is my second purchase of this calculator. The first one I bought in 2019 and it died about 7 years later, as a tax professional I love the layout and feel of this calculator, since I use it on almost a daily basis. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the quality of this unit is going to be the same. The new unit only weighs about half of what the old unit did, the screen instead of being dark with green numbers, is now backlit green with green numbers, the upper row of buttons (cost, tax, etc) are in a slightly different layout, and the power cord, instead of being permanently attached, is now a removable one.

I wish I would have found this little gem before I bought 3 other adding machines. I was able to return the others but this one is a keeper. I used my bosses the other day and had to have it. It is small but big enough for anyone that is 10key by touch. It has the bells and whistles that I need and it is not loud when I need to print. Definitely not the old type sound of a ribbon machine but for sure not noisy like the new roller machines. It’s a ton quieter than the last 3 I bought! Will be keeping this one.

The Sharp EL-1801V is hands-down one of the best printing calculators I’ve used in my career. The dedicated cost/sell/margin keys are a game-changer for quick business calculations, and the One-Touch Change Calculation function is a thoughtful addition that saves time. The keys are well-spaced and responsive, making long sessions of data entry comfortable and error-free. It’s built like a tank—solid, stable, and clearly designed for heavy use. This calculator worked great for the 10 months I've had it. Now --- and as several others have pointed out -- the printing motor does NOT stop running. It doesn't matter if you turn off printing, the motor keeps running. The calculator still functions, but the printing mechanism just keeps running, even when not printing. Did I mention it KEEPS RUNNING! Even when turned off!!! It only stops if unplugged. You can still use it, so long as you don't mind it sounding like a hair dryer even when NOT printing. This turned out to be a poor quality machine and a waste of money for having it less than a year. It's only warranted for 6 months. Do yoursel a favor and AVOID this calculator. UPDATE - I increased my rating to 4 stars. I called the company and told them about this issue. They responded by saying that they were aware of a small number of defective units with this problem and they sent me a brand new replacement. The new one is the exact same model but it now has an A/C adapter which you need to plug into the back of the calculator. The display is also a bit different in that it is more green and the numbers are larger. Not a big deal, and I'm happy with the end result.
