Actually liked the design of the product. Bought these to hang lumber in the shed and they seem relatively sturdy enough for my purposes. Upon unpacking, realized that they shorted me 4 bolts needed to affix the arms to the supports. Tried to find out how to contact customer service for the supplier to get new hardware, but that proved to be overly difficult. Figured I’d get some similar hardware from the store and moved on. The screws to install the supports to the wall seemed sturdy enough, but I broke the heads off of three screws trying to drill into studs. Would recommend using your own hardware. ... show more

I have been in the process of organizing my shop and was looking for some type of lumber storage solution. This one came is a surprisingly small box. The two vertical supports for it are actually 4 pieces, with two making up each upright. It would have been much sturdier if those two uprights were one piece, but they are easy enough to mount on the wall. Speaking of that, the screws that come with the rack are smaller than I would like, or at least make sure they are firmly anchored in a stud with a washer on them to keep them from pulling through the tubular steel if the shelves are overloaded. I would actually suggest lag bolts to mount them on a wall with wooden studs. I have concrete walls in my shop, so I mounted them to the wall with concrete anchors. While they are firmly anchored to the wall, the square tubular steel that makes up these have a finite capacity for weight before they will bend, so I think the anchors are stronger than the structure. I started with green pressure treated 2x4s since they are heavier than regular ones. Keeping to the back of the shelves to reduce strain on them, I stacked them to gauge the strength. After that was a bunch of regular framing 2x4s and one bundle of 1x2s. My box didn't come with any pins or anything that would keep the wood from sliding off, but it is in a safe location in case something falls off. I don't know if I would put a lot more weight on them, but time will tell how strong it is. I get a lot of pressure treated wood, including 4x4s, so I know I have the ability to exceed the capacity. You should use good judgement when stacking heavier woods on these. Do they work, sure, but I would suggest using heavier hardware to attach them to the wall. My garage is much cleaner thanks to these storage racks! I wish I would have taken a before and after picture. I was amazed how much lumber I was able to fit on them! They have remained sturdy and I have had no issues. They were easy to install. I would like to get more of these!

I recently ordered the 2-pack of the lumber wall mount to store wood off the ground. My husband affixed this to the old fence although it takes a little bit of time to do so. Once affixed, it held my extra wood without issue. Its made from good materials and has solid construction. Like clamps, you can never have enough storage racks in a garage or wood shop. Hence, these are a welcome addition no matter what you actually need them for - you’ll find a use. With that said, I would recommend keeping these to medium duty and below. They’re great for light-to-mid-weight items, including dry lumber. While I haven’t loaded them to failure, I am a little hesitant to pile on tons of treated lumber for fear of collapse. They are tube steel, after all, and the gauge is thick but not oversized. Moreover, the mounting hardware is lighter than I’d like, so I’d recommend getting some lag screws (better yet, carriage bolts, if you have access to install them) to really secure these in place. Beyond that, they’re pretty nice. The size is good, there are a few mounting options, and they’re perfect for the PVC and baseboard/trim I haven’t yet convinced myself to discard. The upright sections are, as others note, two pieces each - that can be good or bad, depending on your perspective, I guess. A singular piece would be easier to mount, and perhaps allow additional configurations, but the dual system allows you to put two different runs of shelves at the same height for easier access or longer materials.
