Style: Loft Bed
Came a month late but arrived. Everything was fine on setup except for 2 planks for the 5 dresser side. They must have been cut mm's off because I went through several (had to get more from home depot) twist lock nuts trying to get them to close and fit proper. I swapped out similar pieces and they worked fine so it had to be a bad cut on just those 2 that wouldn't play nice. Had to manually sand the prefabricated holes out on them to get them to lock into place proper. Took a solid day to put together and would have been quicker had it not been for the 2 miscut pieces forcing me to drive to the hardware store mid setup. It does have a smell but we opened the windows up over the weekend and blasted the ceiling fan and a big vortex fan and the smell didn't linger. Overall good value but frustrating on the initial wait and then 2 faulty wooden beams on the 5 dresser side. I may also replace the slats in the future for a sturdier option. Similar beds run $1,200+ so you save a few hundred but may need to hit your local hardware store mid setup if some of the pieces are off a little.

Style: Loft Bed
First after screening the web for this type of loft bed, prices came in a range of 800 to 1200 for the same features (desk+drawers). This one from an esthetic stand point looks good on the picture and look as good when mounted. I went for this one as it was coming from Amazon with which I have good experience. Delivery Experience: The bed was delivered a first time but one of the package (it comes in 4) was damaged and I refused to receipt it. Note that the carrier used (ABF) was extremely courteous and willing to arrange in term of delivery date/time. I was expecting just to have the replacement package delivered but Amazon delivered the full pallet (4 packages again). During the time of delivery I returned the 3 previous packages. Again ABF did coordinate with Amazon. Then there was some confusion with Amazon on what was retuned or not, but like usual the Amazon customer service was amazing (here dealing with the heavy load department) and solved my problem with a very courteous manner and efficiency (a lot of companies should inspire themselves on this model!) Assembling the bed: A miracle! Usually the only good experience I have for assembling furniture is with Ikea. Their engineers are smart and instructions are well done as well as their design. All other experiences have usually turned to disaster and frustration. Not here; instructions are IKEA like and design of assembly very similar. Only critic: instead of using some Wood peg they use plastics ones. Not a good idea. On the contrary of the IKEA wood type you need to put them well in at the first place or they don't slide well on their own; damaging the panels (we damaged 2 panels like that). Not a major damage but extremely annoying for a new piece of furniture. It still took us 3-4 hours to put everything together but without any frustration. Odor/ Varnish BIG ISSUE. The bed is suppose to comply to the regulation on formaldehyde (I have serious doubt!!!) We have aerated the bed for one week first prior to mounting it. Then after mounting both end-units we did let it for one additional week. And now we have finishing mounting the bed completely since 3 days and it still smells pretty bad!!!! To put a kid to sleep in it I have some serious safety question to the manufacturer... Final result: The bed look really nice, but I wish that our daughter could use it! I refuse to put her in, until the odor clears. 10/17 Update (2 1/2 weeks after mounting the bed)- Odor still present, not as strong but definitely clearly noticeable. My daughter can still NOT use her bed or her bedroom for that matter. 10/23 update: Smell still present and room still under ventilation all the time. I'm still not letting my girl sleep in the room. Did contact Amazon C/S for them to contact ACME. The answer is that the smell will dissipate but cannot offer a timeline! Nor can they comment if formaldehyde is used in the building process. Amazon C/S did offer right away to replace the bed or refund. But dismounting everything does not seems realistic to me. At this point I'm waiting. 3/10/2014 update: After 9 months as the odor was still present we dismounted the bed and store if in our garage. Last week we finally brought it back and the odor was finally gone! 4/7/2017- per request of a fellow customer I'm posting a picture with the reverse mounting. Do not be surprised by the stairs, this is just a piece of furniture from ikea not mean to do that but my kids are on the light side. That the place where the ladder should be.

Never in a million years would I imagine purchasing a huge piece of furniture on Amazon, however we took a leap and could not be happier with our purchase. We shopped around at a lot of the major furniture stores and could not believe some of the prices so we decided to check out what Amazon has to offer. When we stumbled across this we thought it was too good to be true but after reading the reviews we ultimately decided to purchase. This came to the house pretty quickly and was very easy for my husband to assemble. It is as good quality of the items we were looking at Ashley and City furniture. It is very sturdy and we’ve had for a while now and it’s still in perfect condition even with the normal wear and tear of 2 little boys. We did separately purchase a safety strap just to be extra cautious and I would recommend adding this as well. I would really recommend this product!

It states in the description it is wood! That is the only reason I bought it but instead it is that crappy pressed particle board. I paid $300 more because I thought it was solid wood when I could have gotten the same junk from Walmart for $300 less. To top it off we had to screw it to the wall becuase of how unsturdy it is. The smell was so strong I got an instant headache. The smell did go away but it sat in out garage for a week before we put it together but was still pretty strong when we opened it up and lasted a few days but we put it together over a few days due to being busy. Some of the instructions were missing but pretty simple Instructions.

Definitely requires 2 people to assemble. Our 5 year old loves it and has been a great bed/desk/storage area so far. Delivery was a little difficult, since the company claimed they would call to schedule a delivery time, but instead sent a text after midnight that they would deliver during a large time frame that our family would be in and out during the day.

This is a beautiful bed for the price! It is well designed and assembles quite easily...still probably 3 hours total. The only down side is it does have a very strong paint smell. Thought my husband was cuckoo after from inhaling fumes. Smell lasting a month after, but we just air the room out frequently. Beautiful bed!

When we first got this bed, we loved it. My son has enjoyed having the desk and a play area under the bed. After a year of use, however, we are less pleased. The paint has chipped on the desk from just light use. More concerning, though, is the fact that parts of the bed supports have begun to bow and are no longer straight. My son weighs less than 50 pounds and we are using a lightweight mattress. This bed should not be bowing out with this little weight.
