This item arrived damaged. Several of the slats on the back panel are broken and loose. There were no instructions or hardware to put it together! It looks like a nice piece of furniture in the picture, and I was really looking forward to having this in my spare bed room. I have asked for a refund. Update: I contacted the seller and told them what happened. They shipped a replacement part along with the hardware and instructions. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice and understanding. The replacement part came in excellent condition and my son and I put the bed frame together in about 20 mins. The bed is now in my spare room and I have changed my rating to 4 stars. ... show more

First of all this is shown as antique oak but it is walnut. Looks nothing like the photo. No hardware shipped, and no instructions.I would suggest that you stay away from this!

Dark walnut finish, easy to put together, recommend two people to balance initial bolts, solid and sturdy daybed. I added wood bed slats purchased from a large home home products store in the lumber section at $1.98 each. There is room for eight additional slats, and four dropped in just right. The two of the additional four needed just a smidge of shaving (can use a belt sander) along the end of one side, and the other two which would fit the ends there is a raised notch to consider. Not necessary to add extra slats at each end. The extra slats were to avoid a piece of plywood to support a memory foam mattress and purely my choice. Advice: DO NOT FORCE SLATS. The slats that come with the bed are excellent, screw down and have a mesh cloth strip running down each side. Forcing a slat will easily damage the integrity of the slat system provided, which keeps all the slats aligned including when extra slats are added. I purchased an thin mattress gripper from Amazon to place over the slat bed. I looked at quite a few day beds and it was after a lot of looking, reading, comparing that I ordered the Caryn daybed. Versatile can change rooms in future and serves the dual purpose of seating and a bed.. Photos show filling in with extra slats process. ... show more
