Not a bad card! Can only compare it to one other card I got for $50 and its maybe only marginally lower video quality BUT that might be my own bitrate settings. I had audio problems with both capture cards I tried but it turns out it might just be my motherboard creating crackling. I solved it by swapping to MJPEG video format. Again there are many things that can contribute to these not working properly, but the card itself seems super good for the price. Haven’t tried any expensive brand ones but this was a great entry to streaming and the streams look n sound pretty nice after setting it all up. Also it’s literally plug and play, no issues on my Win11 for capturing Switch 1 and 2. If you’re curious about capture card streaming or may only want to stream a handful of games occasionally, you get a good bang for ur buck here.

I decided on this card because of the Acer brand and the entry-level pricing for capture cards. It works great hooked to a PC and I can capture high scored on my retro games and stream gameplay easily. The only problem I have is extra lag going from the card back to the TV (using a 15' HDMI 4K cable). I noticed while streaming gameplay. It was fine if I watched on the PC/Streaming software, but watching on the TV, the controller input lag made shooting impossible. I still use this to capture high-score screenshots and to make any tutorial videos, but I'll probably have to get a more expensive card for gameplay streaming and monitoring on my TV.

The Acer USB 3.0 Capture Card has 1 HDMI input, 1 3.5mm microphone input, 1 HDMI output and 1 3.5mm headphone jack. This device can capture HDMI input and monaural audio input signals and transmit HDMI output and stereo audio output signals simultaneously. The audio input can be used to speak into a microphone while you capture your HDMI footage. The device comes with two USB connections so that it will be compatible with most devices. It has a standard USB connector and a USB-C connector. The capture device is small and features a braided cable, which feels sturdy and the case is made of aluminum. It never felt hot while I was using it. It is a USB 3.0 device but it will work with USB 2.0 ports for every screen resolution and frame rate except for 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames per second. You will have to plug the device into a USB 3.0 port for this resolution and frame rate. I used the VirtualDub capture program with the Acer capture device on Windows 10. There are several settings that are adjustable on this device. For the picture, you can adjust the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation to your liking. I recorded footage from a game that was converted to 1080p through a composite to HDMI converter and I noticed that the picture was brighter and didn't need to be adjusted. I also recorded footage from the same game that was converted from RGB to component and then converted a second time from component to HDMI without upscaling. This setup is not a standard HDMI resolution, but it still worked and I had to adjust the color settings because it was darker. This device can capture uncompressed videos with the YUV format and compressed videos with the MJPG format. The screen resolutions that you can choose from are: 640 x 480 720 x 480 720 x 576 800 x 600 1024 x 768 1280 x 720 1280 x 960 1280 x 1024 1360 x 768 1600 x 1200 1920 x 1080 The audio settings are not adjustable on this device. The default sound format is 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz or DVD quality. This is an excellent device that offers a lot of features for something so affordable. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to capture footage from an HDMI source.

Years ago when the switch 1 came out I was searching around for a capture card that was "professional enough" to stream Animal Crossing on my YT channel. First one I tried lagged frequently, couldn't support 1080p - it was embarrassing. The second I used for years, it's software was awful- it stopped working sporadically and constantly demanded updates impossible to install properly while out of date- literally the worst. But this ? Oh my god. No software needed, just pure plug and play, works perfectly- no notes. No lag, the audio import works without jumping though massive hoops. I've been able to stream with extreme ease with the Switch 2- no more pulling out my hair with frustration over just trying to get a capture card to work. This is genuinely a great and affordable option for anyone looking for easy way to live stream or record their game play. You do not need anything fancy, you do not need those big "popular brands" - acer has been around as long as I can remember and is extremely reliable. BUY THIS NOW. Trust.

First impressions tend to make or break devices like this, since there are literal thousands that perform the same task. This device is small, sleek, and feels solid. The universal compatibility of the USB adapter is a double-edged sword. It allows you to have one device that works with both connection types, but at the cost of being limited to 3.0 1080p is more than enough for most streaming, but there is nothing worse than being stuck with downscaled output just to record. This card has solved that problem with 4K passthrough. I use this card with my Switch 2, so buying a cheap one that was strictly 1080p because that was all the Switch could output meant it was time to upgrade. This one was half the price and somehow still seems like twice the quality. My only complaint would be the proprietary cable. I am always against that because the cables are the first thing to die and then you end up replacing the whole thing over it. I will give this one credit, though, for having a very nice and decently long braided cable. At least if they were going to force one on me, it was the same or better quality than the one I would have bought.

works great if you just want to send video, but any $5 camera can do that, don't waste your money on this, Audio sounds like trash IF you get it to work at all, all i get is interference and nothing fixes it. There is no help, there is no fix, it's just trash, buy anything else.
