  • good laptop, but finicky drivers
Good specs for the price (a dell xps 13 with similar specs costs 100's of dollars more) decent build quality, aluminum chassis, laptop is pretty sleek and lightweight touchpad, keyboard and screen are good, nothing special, but not bad either battery life is excellent my only complaint is that the fans were super loud out of the box. however, after using the fn + f shortcut to set fan profile to silent mode, the machine is very quiet and the fans almost never come on EDIT: I was randomly getting bluescreens (referencing the intel driver). I found that you MUST use the intel graphics driver versions acer's website. If you use any other intel graphics driver (in my case a newer version was pushed by windows update) you will experience frequent bluescreens. Once I rolled the driver back from the windows update version to the stock acer driver, the random bluescreens went away. EDIT: 5/29/21: The intel drivers offered by windows update are now a newer version and no longer seem to be broken EDIT: 3/13/22: I still have not had any driver or stability issues since the last edit. I also updated this machine to Windows 11 and had zero issues! ... show more

  • A niche laptop with some issues
My Swift 3 has some major strengths but also some glaring issues. On the good side, it has a great CPU for the money, a decent GPU for a non gaming laptop, good battery life, and a thunderbolt port. On the negative side, the mousepad is terrible and limits the functionality without a mouse. At least this is my experience, and from what I’ve read it is a very common issue. Some of the keys also get stuck, at least on mine the right arrow key does frequently. Overall I’d recommend this laptop 5/5 for someone who wants to use an eGPU to play games due to the thunderbolt port and the powerful inbuilt CPU. It’s a good cross-functional work and game laptop. But you may need to carry around a mouse regardless. If you are purely wanting a work laptop there are probably better options at the price point. ... show more

  • USB-C Charger not included
While it has a USB-C port, it did NOT come with a USB -C charger--just the big bulky plugin barrel charger. You will need to buy a separate 65W UBC-C charger if you don't want to lug around the traditional brick charger. Laptop is thin and light, yet feels sturdy. I haven't experienced the fan noise. Can confirm the speakers are very weak--just don't get loud enough. Screen is big (minimum bevel) bright, and crisp. There was some bloatware installed but easily removed. It's almost a blue-grey color. Fingerprint logon is super convenient. So far so good! I've only had this a few days but it's been working great for me. ... show more

  • PIece of Junk
After only a month it totally crashed and I had to return it on my nickel to get it repaired. Now it keeps shutting off my screen for no reason constantly and makes it impossible to work. Time to throw it away and get something else.

  • Very glitchy keyboard - unusable
Only random keys worked on the keyboard!

  • Regular Crashes
I bought this laptop for the battery life. Unfortunately, the computer regularly crashes without any warning - something I have not had from a laptop in a decade? - and for that reason I don't recommend the product. I should have gone with a safer bet.

  • Awesome laptop
This is such a good deal. The laptop is lightning fast and the graphics are awesome. I got the blue one and fingerprints are inevitable. The 14” is a perfect fit for me and it is really lightweight. I got it for $800 but even $900 or $1000 would be worth it. Windows 1- is irritating but nothing to do about that. The storage is huge. All in all, an outstanding investment. ... show more
