    • Repairs are botched, your item will break. Stay away.
Got this laptop around early June, it was pretty hot running but I thought nothing of it. Turns out the repair was botched so the liquid metal used for cooling leaked(according to the Acer support who checked the damage but denied fixing it, my warranty had ran out by the time I got the news from Acer support) and broke my GPU, that’s why it was running so hot. I’ve been trying to get a repair or replacement since July, but the seller doesn’t agree to it’s own policy of repair or replacement and only issues refunds. Acer nor Acer Recertified cover this product in any way and just send you back to the Amazon seller-chat. ... show more

    • Good value, runs hot, please seriously consider getting the extended warranty
First and foremost, please consider getting the extended warranty that's offered. This is a high performance laptop and it runs pretty hot while the video card is active, and heat kills electronics. It only comes with a 90 day warranty as a renewed item, and $250 or so for four (4) years of warranty coverage is fantastic. I've bought two of these now. The first one was a bust, with multiple problems on receipt. I sent it back (be sure to keep the packaging for a while) and ordered another. The second works great and I intend to keep it unless a problem develops before the return window closes. And, if something fails and I return it, I'll order another until I get a good one because this is a very impressive laptop for the price and I don't think the price/performance can be matched, especially with a 4 year warranty. Mine has two 8GB RAM sticks and an extra NVME bay. The only thing I really don't like is the power adapter plug, which doesn't seem to seat itself firmly or with any sort of noticeable tactile indicator, so you can think you plugged it in without it being plugged in. I've gotten into the habit of plugging and twisting it as I plug to be sure it's seated. Snappy day to day performance, fast transfer rates, games are fast and look great, Stable Diffusion processes quickly, etc. Speaker quality is pretty good for a laptop. FWIW I usually use nice headphones while gaming so I can't speak on them too much. I played Red Dead and everything sounded nice enough, though. I'm not a huge Acer fan but at $1900ish for a 4080 with a 4 year warranty I couldn't not try it. Build quality is good, although there are compromises to get it to the original $2500 or so price. Flex in the screen, a bit too much plastic, the back of the laptop screen will push in (and I assume touch the back of the screen housing itself), etc. It's a tremendous value for a 4080 system and I recommend it if you're looking. Give it a shot and return it if it's not suitable. If you watch you might see a 5% or so off coupon. I saw it cycle a couple of times when I was purchasing mine. Good luck and have fun. ... show more

When I first got it I benchmarked it and it performed very poorly, slow to respond to anything, gaming performance was poor, (barley better than my laptop with a 13620h and 4070). Ended up deciding to return it, when I was returning it I noticed a dent in the bottom corner, like it had been dropped. I changed the reason for return to damaged in shipping. At that point my old shipping label was voided and I was told I needed to pay for shipping. I contacted Acer and they told me this. Hi Braheem, I am so sorry, however, Amazon does not show that the first return was cancelled and opening multiple returns will void the label. We have no way to add a label as Amazon provided the label for the initial return and removed the option for us to update it. Thank you, Melissa Acer Recertified Support Team Now I'm just waiting on an A-Z claim since I can't even return this without footing the bill on the shipping. ... show more
