I am mostly happy with this computer. I upgraded from a 5 year old chromebook, and I am amazed at how much faster this one is. This is in the mid range for price on chromebooks, and I think its a reasonable price (not a screaming deal.) There are two very annoying things about this laptop, and they are the only reason I marked it down to four stars: there is exactly ONE USB port - maddening! I got a small USB hub for a few dollars and remedied that problem. The second problem is it is difficult to open and close the computer. You can't just flip the top up, you have to pry the two sides apart. I've decided to just leave it ajar, as this is a home computer anyway, but this could be a deal breaker for someone wanting a travel computer. ... show more

It works fine but offers nothing to make it stand out or be better than a competitive brand. I've been using it for about a year and haven't had any problems. The case is pretty flimsy and the battery lasts for about 3 hours of constant use before needing a recharge. I recommend buying an HP instead of the Acer brand. ... show more

I've bought two Spin 714s and my first one is working fine. My 2nd however after a year, the battery won't charge. It will still work if plugged in, but won't work if unplugged. Do a search for "Spin 714 battery problems" and you will find all sorts of upset customers. There doesn't seem to be a fix although there are lots of suggestions. It is the second chromebook for our household and the 5th chromebook I have owned and it is by far the least performant, most buggy experience of them all by a wide margin.
