This was very easy to get started on and to set up. The keyboard is very responsive, as is the mousepad, but I prefer to use a full sized keyboard and manual mouse, so I also purchased the Acer docking station for it. The screen quality is excellent; I use it with a larger screen as well. Using a Chrome book is a little different from using a Mac or a Windows based PC, but it is easy to use and get used to. The response times on WiFi are excellent, and there is very little to no lag time on anything I’ve done. It also has a longer support for updates lifetime than most others - ten years v the typical five, so that was one of the deciding factors for me, along with its built in security software. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone.

It was DOA, but not blaming the seller. It was a beautiful laptop. But it had no power response at all. Not even the light that shows it is plugged into a power source. The AC Adaptor tested good. Having repaired desktops/laptop for 15 years normally this is due to a ram stick that was dislodged during shipment. It has happed to me when I have sent out repaired/refurbished machines. So although I had to do a return, both Amazon and the seller made it a painless process. Hence the 5 stars.

The media could not be loaded. Wish I can give 1 star review. bought this laptop on sep 22, 2024. from the first month of purchase the charging was not good, I thought it is becoz this one is a gaming laptop. after 2 months the screen flickering issue was horrific. I contacted amazon they said the return window is closed. I even stated this is branded as "NEW" In the amazon page, but I was sold with a used device, they stated that they cannot help me . like wtf? I contacted manufacturer Acer for warranty claim, they replied me with "this is a modified product, our warranty cannot be applicable here" but the seller mentioned 1 year of manufacturer warranty, the manufacturer then I contacted the seller, the seller said they updated the ram with reputed company parts, this is a hardware issue that they will repair and i need to ship the laptop what will i do with a faulty machine even after repair? both amazon and seller refused providing a refund, never buy from this seller!

I've been building as well as buying gaming desktops and laptops for 25 years . The specs on this system make it a good choice for those with $12-1300 to spend. It runs GPU & CPU, RAM & SSD intensive games and 3D rendering apps well, I don't get much time from the battery & it's a bit heavy but I don't plan on using this device portably except to move from place to place. I troubleshoot & fix other's systems & the weight isn't too bad even with the AC adapter. The screen is beautiful, the fans cool the machine well while overclocking the GPU. Acer ships this with software controls that change fan speed, GPU, even color scheme of the lighted keyboard. There's a turbo button to overclock the CPU so far I haven't burned it in yet but I've no doubt it'll be fast enough. This ships with both a SSD and HDD, it's upgradeable to 64gb RAM, I just purchased a Wi-Fi 6 Router which has increased my Wi-Fi 30%. The Predator comes with a lot of bloatware ( so far my biggest issue) it comes with a month if Norton security ultra and Express VPN ( I use Avast & Nord VPN) but they're good apps. I like the aluminum body, the only other notebook system I've owned without a plastic body is my MacBook Pro which I use for other reasons. I'd recommend buying this over the Dell Alienware and Asus Tuf gaming laptops. I've been shopping for one I liked since 2021 & the Acer Predator was always in the top 3-5. If I were purchasing it again, I'd add the maximum DDR5 Ram & possibly the 12th Gen i9 chip even though it would cost me $1000 more, the difference would be really shown 5-7 years down the line when I'd need to upgrade certain hardware. I expect to get at least 5 years possibly 10 from this system, I'm 57 & hope the next gaming platform is something built by me. If there's a site to download the Acer Predator apps which control the keyboard, fans, turbo boost etc, I'd like to install a streamlined version of Windows made by gamers. The biggest con is the ton of unnecessary things such as office, one drive, a few other things nothing major. I would have preferred 2 SSD storage devices but that can be changed when I double the ram. For now this is the best $1150 I've spent in awhile. This comes out to a little over $3 per day for a year.

It had it all for something convenient. Good frames, graphics, had a large screen, and had great storage. After 9 months the screen ultimately just gave up seemingly overnight. No black lights, no resolution, no images. The screen was ultimately unresponsive to the rest of the laptop powering on. It made the booting noise, the fans run fine, the keyboard lights up and everything. I’ve tried some popular solutions to this specific laptop like hard resets, using another screen to reset graphics, the whole nine yards. I doubt I missed anything as it’s been close to 18 hours of troubleshooting collectively. For the price and performance I would’ve hoped for a quality lifespan but 9 months?! Nine months is just not worth it. I’d just recommend a pre built pc from Walmart over this product in terms of longevity. I doubt the warranty’ll replace it or if I can get a refund without the original box so if you’re looking for something that’ll run well for just about any game for a short period of time until you get a proper pc this is your placeholder. Though in the end the price is just too much for that. In the end the pictures I have is the Laptop fully on, tv screen to the right of it has the display since the screen crapped out. The power is on, fans are running smoothly, and the keyboard is reacting. But without a responsive screen this laptop is just useless minus the fact I have an old tv screen to keep it going until I get a pc. My final message, buyer beware it has the potential to be not good but great for a laptop, however the lifespan of it throws everything else out the window. Unless you’re wanting an expensive temporary gaming laptop this is not the way to go.
