I decided to ditch Windows since my Windows10 HP is barely functioning. I was hoping to wait until closer to the October 2025 deadline, but then I saw this Chromebook about a month ago. The price was right and I was tired of waiting half a day for updates to finish installing on my laptop. It was my intention to replace my laptop with a Chromebook, since I was already familiar with the OS. It suits my needs perfectly. It is so much faster and lighter than my laptop was. It is fast and I like the size. The sound is really good for everyday functions. The speakers are on top, on either side of the keyboard, rather than underneath the case. I like how the keyboard feels. It seems like good quality to me. The keys are tight and precise, but not backlit (which wasn't something I needed). I like having the touchscreen for ease of use. The only thing some people might have a problem with is the air vents are on the bottom, so if you're using it on your lap, you'll feel it heat up. It isn't hot, but it's something to be mindful of to prevent overheating. The screen is clear. It's very easy to use this Chromebook, especially if you already have a Google account. Setup was quick and easy. I ordered a wired keypad, since that is something I've grown used to using over the years. I haven't found the adjustment to be troublesome, so I haven't actually used the portable keypad that often. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this product. This is my first Acer product. After setting up the chromebook, the Acer registration process was simple and took about five minutes to complete. This Chromebook starts fast. Updates take less than a minute. Everything I need is at my fingertips. It works with my wireless printer, which also took about five minutes to set up. I really don't have any complaints, but I was upgrading from a 2018 laptop, so other people may not share my experience if they have newer equipment to compare this to. I consistently have a lot of tabs open at the same time. I stream videos and often switch back and forth between tabs and apps. I use wireless earbuds with this as well. Quick and easy setup, perfect functionality. My Favorite Thing: The camera privacy slide. I know it's a small thing. But it was one of the first things that put this in my list of Chromebooks. I ultimately chose this one based on price. It offered everything I was looking for except for a built-in keypad. That was a small concession to make in order to save at least a hundred dollars.

I have owned other Chromebooks in the past and have been pleased with the line in general. This Acer Chromebook has some really nice features like a large screen and good sound quality. Thus far I have found it to be reliable and to boot up quickly. If you are used to using a Windows computer or a Mac, you will find that the interface is a little different as the operating system is distinctly Google. That said, I use this Chromebook for my work. I do a lot of video conferencing and the camera quality has been solid. I know some other commenters have mentioned that the keyboard is not backlit. That is not an issue for me and has not impeded my ability to use the system. My one critique would be that the battery life is a little less than some other Chromebooks that I've owned. Overall, it's a quality device fast and very user friendly.

So far so good.Built sturdy and heavier than some..Picture quality is so good compared to my other chrombooks that dont have 1080 HD..1080 is a must!There is no back-lit keyboard...I was able to get a keyboard cover that has big letters to see better at night tho.It also is a touchscreen which i do use occasionally. Sound is also better!Took awhile to find updates for this.Click languages scroll on left to chromeOS click then click addtional info...This models updates end in June 2033..Happy about that! Everything working good and system is fast..I buy these chrombooks because they have the night lights which i use day and night most of the time because Led light is not good for us..We also use incandesant light bulbs in our house. Will update if my review changes down the road. Edited..The first day no problems until that night it would not load certain websites so decided to return it.I power washed it and boxed it up...Next day i thought i would try again and it worked fine until today it wont load a website..I tried my older chrombook and it loaded website fine...That tells me this one has a problem...I returned and bought same one so fingers crossed no issues. Update..5/2 so far so good..This new laptop has no issues and am confident it will stay that way.Did buy 4 yr warranty just in case. Replaced an older Acer Chromebook with this. Seems much faster, and works very well. The number of ports, especially being able to charge it from the type C USB port on either side, is convenient to keep the power cord out of the way no matter where you need to plug in and use it while charging. The screen is clear and the touch to pick something on the screen works well. I am glad to report that staying with Acer was a good choice.

Just over a year and it suddenly won't charge or turn on. It's never been dropped or knocked around. It stays on my desk. Just stopped charging all out of nowhere. Update: they are trying to charge me $300 for a repair on my $400 laptop. Sketchy business practice. Cannot recommend anyone getting this laptop

Although this Chromebook has only an eight core processor it runs faster than my 16 core processor Acer Chromebook. Also the description said that it had a 128 GB SSD but in fact it has a 512 GB SSD. The picture on the description made it look like it had a backlit keyboard but it does not, however I added an overhead clip-On LED light to compensate for this. I paid $353 which is a bit more than it is current selling price. I like the touch screen feature which my previous Acer Chromebook did not have. I like to use it to play avakin life and that app loads in about 14 seconds when you have a good internet connection. With my 16 core Acer Chromebook it took 24 seconds to load avakin life.
