Purchased to replace my elderly mother-in-law's old Chromebook. She loves the big and bright display. I love that it's a Chromebook and mostly immune to the people who call up old people that their computer has been compromised and try to hack their PCs and steal their banking info, etc. I like it so much, I bought another one for my elderly mother. I have used the 15" predeceessor for the past couple of years. This newer 17" version is WAY faster and the keyboard is much more substantial. The screen is birghter and most importantly, much easier to read. I'm not a gamer so don't know how to rate that. Linux works great on this machine. Nice.

If you are an actual adult there is no reason for you to actually have this thing. I was trying to be cheap since I only needed a laptop for one specific thing. I opened it up and turned it on and tried to work with it and immediately put it back in the box and returned it all in the same day. Very limited in what it can do, which is the point. If you have actual work to do on a computer I would not recommend this. This is definitely for a child. Now I see why schools loan these things out to school children ... show more

Was Working fine but charged overnight and now will not turn on...nothing but black screen. Haven't even had it a month! Update Acer support great and fixed the problem. Had to hold down refresh button and power button until red ilght on side of laptop turned blue. Great response and real people answer the phone. ... show more

Update: I bought another one, why? Just a bad habit. So glad I'd left these instructions here, and I still HATE Acer for this stuff... seriously, I just hate you so much. It kept saying to press the search+shift+p keys... and that kept not working. Then I checked what the search key was operating, it was operating caps lock, I switched it so it operates the key that it shows... search... and voila.... so ... i still hate Acer. It's too big a problem for such a small fix. Dear Acer, I HATE you. I won't send it back. But I won't remember how to do this again and so next time I'll just remember that I HATE ACER. And I'll buy something else instead. ... show more
