  • Get the 4gb model if you can. You shan't regret it.
I'm not sure why this particular model doesn't have any reviews. I'm assuming it's because people usually go with the 2gb model. Well, I tried that 2gb model and I lovingly refer to it as "the grandma model." It's fine for very basic internet surfing, but I found it to be sluggish compared to this 4gb one. I immediately returned the 2gb model after two days of using for this 4gb one. After a week of using this model, I can easily say that I love it. My main purpose for getting a chromebook was to use writerduet, a screenwriting program, on it. When I downloaded the writerduet extension on the 2gb, I found it took quite a while for it to load. If I had a couple of tabs open and tried to open the writerduet extension as well, I felt the experience was quite sluggish. On this 4gb model, I felt the loading time for the extension was cut in half. Maybe more! I can have a couple of tabs open along with the writerduet extension and not experience any lag. It's great. Even if you're not looking to use that particular extension, I'm sure this chromebook will suit your needs if you're planning to do some multitasking on it. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap means to go online and use browser based software. The battery life is great. Most of the information online promise 9 hours of battery life, which you do get, but if you don't stream videos and just do word processing and surfing, you can definitely pump out around 12 hours of battery life. It's very impressive. the screen isn't the most miraculous display you'll lay your eyes on, but it's very much serviceable. I enjoy using it for youtube, netflix, and hulu (oh, and amazon streaming, too. Sorry, amazon.) The build of the chromebook is very nice. It's very lightweight and portable. That was definitely a plus for me because I hate lugging around my 15" windows laptop. It looks great and the keys do not feel mushy like on other models I've checked out. I can see myself typing on this one for hours. Just be sure you know what you're getting into when getting a chromebook. There are some great videos on youtube explaining what a chromebook is compared to a mac and pc. If you know what you're getting into, this is definitely a solid purchase. ... show more

  • Perfect for college
At first was extremely skeptical of buying a Chromebook giving the reviews, storage problems and processor. With that being said, I am a fan of chrome books!!!!! I got this particular laptop for 150 bucks on amazon on cyber Monday. I already have a MacBook laptop but I wanted something lightweight, great battery and is extremely versatile. This laptop offers it all plus expandable storage. The weight of this laptop is absolutely remarkable, it feels as light as a piece of paper. I know that’s cliche but as a student that carries multiple books on campus, it is refreshing to have something that weighs less than a pound. Battery life usually last me between 7 1/2 hours to 8 depending on usage etc. The absolute best part of this laptop (in my opinion) is the wait time when you start up the computer. There is literally no wait time. It pops up and is ready to go within seconds. If you’re just looking for a laptop that has all the basic necessities then this is the laptop for you. If you’re wanting high resolution, being able to run 10 plus applications, wstch multiple videos at once then this is NOT the laptop for you. ... show more

  • Didn't even last two years
Do not buy this specific computer. This was my 3rd Acer, 2nd Acer Chromebook. My first Acer is over a decade old, it still works. My second Acer is about 6 years old and I'm writing this review on it right now. But this white Acer Chromebook 11, 11.6-inch never seemed right. We bought it new about a year and half ago and after a few months it seemed slow to start. but I just thought it was a bit of an inconvenience. Well, about a week ago while I was using it to search for info on the internet the screen went black and it never started up again. The charger still works, I use it for my other computer but the computer will not start up or turn on. It's rarely been used outside of the house, it's always been well taken care of but now it's toast. ... show more

  • impressive little laptop
purchased couple of these for the kids to have their own first computers. mind you these are 7 & 9 year olds. at school they currently use chrome books so it was a natural choice to pick up chrome books for them as they already identify on how to use them. i don't have to worry about viruses and these things are pretty much instant on. the build and feel on these is pretty impressive. after playing with these the last couple days to make sure worked and build and add profiles i've been pretty impressed. if i didn't already have a tiny profile macbook i'd be all over one of these for myself. some will argue this doesn't do apps, but does give you access to google webstore. i like how initially after connecting to internet it performed an update where my larger acer chrome book i couldn't figure out why some websites weren't displaying and i had to manually update. now websites work fine. go figure. next is trying to figure out parental controls/family. update again soon. ... show more

  • Small Chromebook
This was purchased as a Christmas present for my son. He loves it! Its small and extremely light weight, boots almost instantly, and is plenty fast. This is great for email, writing letters, and web browsing. Its small size makes it great to carry back and forth to school every day. The long life battery gives an honest 5-6 hours of continuous use on a single charge. This is NOT a power house laptop. If you need one, look elsewhere. This is a small, simple, and lightweight laptop that is great for tasks too big for a smart phone. This is NOT a Chromebook Plus, so the Android Store is NOT included (there is a hack that you can Google to add it). ... show more
