I read a few of the reviews where the parts were brittle. After 19 years as an industrial fastener inspector, I found that you must keep nylon parts in a moist zip lock bag and wet paper towel. Let them sit overnight before use. They will feel soft and pliable. These cable ties are a great value.

I didn't know zip ties could be so low quality. These are made of very brittle plastic, and break very easily. Most of them break as I install or tighten them. Not worth the hassle, stay away from these.

I liked these zip ties because they are durable and very easy to use. I used them to zip tie faux hedges to my chain link fence. All the different sizes worked great and none broke, which was noted in other users reviews on Amazon. By no means are the ties for heavy use, the 12 inch ties are the same thin thickness as the 4 inch ties, they will be good for garden use and light household use but not for any car, construction or heavy use.

I ordered these to assist with re-webbing a chair that I did not want to completely disassemble. They came in on time and worked well, plus I have a bunch left over for more projects... wiring work on my utility trailer, organizing cables under my desk and more. For my project I used the 10" ties, two per spring, to hold nine seat coil springs in the compressed position on an antique Victorian wing back chair that needed re-webbing. Compress the springs, stretch and attach the webbing, then use long wire cutters to reach in and snip the wire ties and remove them with needle nose pliers. Saved me a ton of time over tying them with twine. So, yes, they work. I recommend them for their intended purposes and probably some that someone has yet to think of. ... show more

Something like 1/3 to 1/2 of them break when trying to close them. I'm not talking about applying any force. They simply snap from the angle created by tying them. These are utterly useless. Avoid.

These are indispensable and nearly universally useful, for a multitude of applications, on a all kinds jobs, projects or missions. My favorite fasteners by far, these are the greatest of all time. Different sizes are extremely handy and you can't have too many around since they're so inexpensive, especially considering their ubiquitous usefulness. Easy to remove or change. Screws, nails, glue and velcro have their place, but they take longer, are more trouble, or are difficult to disassemble later if you need to reconfigure. If you have some of them available, you'll end up finding new uses constantly. ... show more
