UPDATE 2: After my previous update, I still encountered occasional (every few days to a week) hard hangs that required a power-off/on to return it to service. I've since had to use hidden BIOS tweaks to eliminate the potential of the CPU to enter sleep states, raise the minimum power allocated to the CPU/GPU, and dedicate a fixed amount of system RAM to the GPU. These settings require specific keystroke combinations to view/change them in the BIOS menus. I've documented the changes in a post called "AceMagic M1 (AMD 6800H/680M) Stability Guide" on Reddit in the r/frigate_nvr sub. ORIGINAL UPDATE: I had a hard hang with this unit a day or so after getting it running with Frigate (under docker). If you're running Ubuntu 24.04, it may be prudent to edit /etc/default/grub to change the value for GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT to the following: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash processor.max_cstate=1 idle=nomwait iommu=pt nmi_watchdog=1 softlockup_panic=1" Then run sudo update grub and reboot. This prevents the CPU from entering low power states, which can make processes temporarily unresponsive. It also uses a non-maskable interrupt to check if the CPU is stuck and forces a panic if it's stuck for more than 20 seconds. When the panic happens, the watchdog will reboot it. Original Review: I'm seriously impressed with this little beast. I needed a better option for my preferred NVR software, Frigate. This has the CPU and GPU required to handle Frigate and its AI motion detection features without breaking a sweat, handling multiple HD and 4K streams. When I powered it up I immediately entered the BIOS and modified the boot order so I boot from a Ubuntu Server installation image on a thumb drive (bye bye Windows!). After installing Ubuntu I installed docker and docker-compose, added a mount point for my NAS storage of the video streams, and transferred my configuration files over from my seriously underpowered N150-based mini-pc. I started Frigate and was immediately in business. I've since modified the configuration to enable AI detection and recording (tried that on the N150 with a Coral TPU but failed ... the Ryzen on this is more than equivalent to the capabilities of the Coral). CPU/GPU usage is averaging 2%, so plenty of headroom to run other applications when needed. The fit and finish of the hardware is excellent and it has plenty of ports for peripherals, although I really don't need any for the initial NVR application. The 2.5Gb Ethernet port provides the ideal performance for storing my recorded streams on my NAS. I can't imagine a better choice at this price point! ... show more

My old mini PC went down , so I decided it was time for an upgrade. I mainly use my computer for browsing, emails, Microsoft Office, streaming, Generic and other everyday tasks. The Mini PC came with windows 11 Pro pre installed and just took few minutes to complete the setup and complete OS Updates are taken care after system setup ,This one has handled everything well so far with multi chrome browser tabs open and MS Office Working I am able to work without any issue or lag and chrome browser and MSOffice responds properly without any issue. Setting it up was straight forward. This mini PC is very small and silent when compared to the old PC. The Ethernet and wifi connection has also been stable during High quality video streaming and video calls using zoom and teams. For the price, I’m happy with its performance and think it’s a good choice for regular usage and save lot of desk space with lot of USB ports to connect multiple devices ... show more

I started buying these ACEMAGICIAN M1 mini PCs, among others, when the make and model that had been my go-to began to disappoint. I'm not going to get into specifics about what make and model that was nor how it disappointed, as I'd rather focus on what I like about the ACEMAGICIAN M1. Simply put, the ACEMAGICIAN M1 is a budget-friendly mini PC that excels at, well, Excel, as well as Word, PowerPoint, QuickBooks (Quicken if you're a home user), web browsing and e-mail -- in other words, the software that most people run on their computers. Its AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor isn't the most powerful you can buy, but it doesn't need to be for the intended users of this PC. It *is* capable and quick for mainstream use. Similarly, the 512GB NVMe 3.0 solid state drive has neither the capacity nor the user-high speed for storing and retrieving huge amounts of data, but it's fast enough that the typical user wouldn't notice the difference between an older and a newer solid state drive in regular use. Need to also do some casual video editing for your school, family or even your own web site? The ACEMAGICIAN M1 has that covered, too. It has plenty of power for CyberLink PowerDirector and similar video editors, and is even up to occasional work with the likes of Adobe Premiere. (I would not recommend it for serious video editing software like Da Vinci Resolve, nor would I recommend this - or any - mini PC for a professional who works a lot with Adobe Creative Cloud.) A few words about the memory, which is NOT upgradeable: This mini PC uses LPDDR5, which is soldered into the motherboard. It can't be replaced, and there isn't even a slot for adding a module of regular DDR5 memory. So, why do I still give it 5 stars? Because this mini PC comes with 24GB of memory, and variants with up to 32GB are available. Either is more memory than most users will need for the useful life of a new PC in 2026. If you need more memory than that, then you should be looking at more powerful, traditional desktop PCs, not budget mini PCs. I have a number of clients using this and other ACEMAGICIAN mini PCs, and have never had a problem reported with any of them. And for those of you who remember ACEMAGICIAN's name from reports of malware/spyware that came preinstalled on some of their computers a couple years ago, I haven't encountered any of that, either. Every ACEMAGICIAN mini PC I have set up has directed me through Microsoft's regular OOBE (Out Of Box Experience) and had no unexpected software of any kind preloaded on it. ... show more

This is not my first mini computer. It got a star because it came on. Stopped working after 4days. Support was slow and unhelpful. I returned to amazon for a refund. It has high hopes but the actual performance does not match. I bought another brand that is working better.

So far so good, only had it for a couple weeks. Easy installation. I had to go in and change some settings on Google chrome because of the refresh rate with the Ryzen chip that was causing Google chrome to flicker. Was a relatively easy fix though.
