I bought two of these - one for my 90 yr old father whose back goes out frequently on it's own (165 lbs) and my hubby who has scoliosis, arthritis and paget's disease, an overgrowth of bone in the spine & neck (310 lbs). My dad preferred it without the suspenders and wears it almost daily for relief! My hubby uses it when lifting and prefers the suspenders to help keep it up and prevent it rolling over in the belly area. He hardly needs to worry though because it's fitted high enough to prevent that itself. Definitely sturdy and holds up well for both of them. Highly recommended! ... show more

Purchased for my wife, who works in the shipping industry loading boxes. She says: This product has boning in it with no slip grip that is made out of latex, so if you have allergies, beware. Husband is very allergic, but has had no ill effects after touching my work clothes when he washes hands immediately after. Would not have purchased if we'd known latex was in it, just to be safe. I'm not allergic and have received no ill side effects. Keeps my lower lumbar "warm" so it doesn't feel bad when lifting/lowering and seems to help keep my lumbar injury from hurting so bad. It works well enough, the suspenders get in the way, had to remove them and they aren't in use. If you have a fairly slim waistline, there will be a slight problem with the stretch band's velcro not sticking on one side due to the overlap from the belt's velcro getting in the way. Excessive torso bending will cause the stretch band velcro to release, so since its supposed to promote proper posture (i.e. no bending) I guess it's working? Its easy to fix and deal with in the fast paced work place. Another thing, despite the latex boning, it will curl and crawl up. Not a big deal, but can be annoying. Waste of money. My husband wore it one day and one of the seams pulled apart. He is not a large person and is not overweight, so it wasn’t a case of it being to small for him causing the seams to pull. Don’t waste your money.
