Value for your money
Good value for the money! I called around my local auto parts stores and they want $450 for the same exact part and it was remanufactured. This one is brand new. So it was a no-brainer to buy this instead of getting one from a local auto parts store and paying three times the price for it! Installation was very easy. You have to pry the original one out of the bracket with a small crowbar and then knock those bushings at the front of the bracket as far forward as you can so that the new one drops in easily or you will have one hell of a time getting it in there. It takes a few seconds to do that versus who knows how long doing it the hard way. Seems to be charging properly. I’m getting 14.6 to 14.7 on my multimeter at the alternator now. My original one lasted 162,750 miles but it was not charging properly and was looking like it was getting burned up. So it was time to put a new one on. Mine was the 105 A and that’s exactly what this replacement one is. When it comes to electrical parts I will not consider anything else other than AC/Delco parts for my GM truck. This went on my 2003 Silverado Z71 extended cab that I have owned since it was brand new. I will see how well it does over time and if I need to will update later.

What can I say? This oem part replaced the original alternator that finally burned up after 250K miles. It works great!

Quiet brand new OEM - edit: flickering voltage
I bought this to replace mine (120,000 miles) which had developed an intermittent whining noise from the bearings. It arrived flopping around inside a beat up ACDelco box and the desiccant packet they included to absorb moisture had ruptured so the desiccant beads had found their way into the alternator. I had to shake it all around to get all the silica gel beads to come out of the unit. You'd think they could solidly pack it into the box so that it doesn't roll around and tear up the cardboard and explode the desiccant. Otherwise, I had no issues with installation or startup. It appears to be functioning normally and you can't beat the price for a brand new OEM part, which cost less than half of the rebuilt version at the local parts stores. EDIT: Voltage regulator flaked out quickly during warranty. The lights are flickering and I just didn't realize the alternator was causing this. I blamed a loose ground, and when I finally figured it out it was the alternator, it was out of warranty.

You get what you pay for.
I quit buying the cheapest parts a long time ago. You're just wasting time and money on parts that don't last. Now only time will tell on this but I'm betting on a winner. Easy swap on my old Silverado, perfect fit, its exactly the same as the original alternator. 14 plus volts of power to the battery.

105amp alternator, good OEM replacement
Really nice looking alternator, very simple install. functional & good voltage power, worth the value. Kepps battery charged very well. Fits perfect on any Chevy with a 105amp alternator. ----2003 Silverado 1500 4x4, 5.3 LS---- 1 - Pop open beer... 2- remove air filter 3- loosen the belt ( belt tensioner ) ( 15mm ) 4- remove the 2 screws through the front ( 15mm ) 5- might need to use crowbar to lift out old alternator / put in new one 6- unplug the 2 plugs in back 7- replace with new alternator ( might need some massaging to put in ) 8- do step 6 -through 1 to finish install

Nice new Alternator at a good price
For the price, you really can't beat this. I bought this for my '03 Chevy Silverado 2500HD w/ 6L (LQ4), which it fit as expected. Removal/install took me about 15 minutes, not including replacing the pulley (see below). Pros: Seems well built. Brand new-not a poorly re-manufactured unit like most other units at and above this price. Easily installed on the LQ4's accessory drive. Cons: Pulley was damaged upon arrival (one of the ridges was nicked, and unfortunately there was a slight bulge into one of the grooves, which would likely damage the serpentine belt) . Not wanting to go several more days without a working alternator, I decided to swap the pulley from my old alternator onto this unit instead of returning it. Given the price, I really can't complain too much on this issue. Alternator is assembled in Mexico. That's better than Made in China, but made in USA is always preferred if possible! Other thoughts: For those of you replacing one of these on the GM 6.0L truck engine, the following may prove helpful: You will likely need to pry the old one out. Just stick a prybar under the old alternator and pry it upward. (after removing the serpentine belt, of course!) Once you've worked it out, I found that it's easier to get the new one in if you take a hammer and gently work the little sleeves in the front holes of the mount towards the front of the truck (you just need a millimeter or so of movement. They'll snug back up to their original position when you install the new alternator). If you don't push these forward, the new alternator can be very hard to reinstall. (Of course, I'm not responsible if you break the mount or damage anything else while doing this!) Hopefully this helps someone.
