  • 2008 Tahoe
Excellent fit for my 2008 Chevy Tahoe.

  • AC Delco Gold Rotor is over priced Raybestos Advanced Technology / Specialty Truck
The AC Delco Rotor is the exact same rotor as the Raybestos Advanced Technology / Specialty Truck rotor. I confirmed this by speaking with a Raybestos representative who offered me the part numbers for the exact product sold under different brand labels. It's not just AC Delco. Napa and others sell their label using Raybestos parts. And for those that think that because it says AC Delco, it must mean it's an OEM part. Wrong! Akebono manufactures many, if not all of the brake rotors for GM. Thinking about getting AC Delco brake pads because you think they are OEM? Wrong. The OEM brake pads are made by Akebono also. The AC Delco pads are made by Raybestos. Also, the AC Delco silicone brake lube is great stuff, but again, they don't manufacture it and it's the exact same product as the Raybestos silicone brake lube ( Raybestos DBL-2T) that you can get for several dollars less. Raybestos doesn't manufacture the lube either, but it's probably the best there is for slide pins. Additionally, these rotors are much higher quality than their similarly priced fully coated rotor. This AC Delco Gold/ Raybestos Adanced Technology/ Specialty Truck rotor has a spec for maximum lateral runout of .002. The fully coated rotor has a maximum lateral runout spec of .004 which is .002 over what GM allows. Not sure how they can call those rotors as OE equivalent when they don't meet the specifications set by the manufacturer. I asked the Raybestos rep about that and he didn't have a good answer, but acknowledged what I was saying. Because the Raybestos Advanced Technology (Specialty Truck) rotors were out of stock on Amazon, I ended up buying the AC Delco Gold version of the same exact rotors. The biggest price difference was with the front rotors. I think they were close to $30 per rotor more expensive. The rear rotors wasn't that much difference. I think The AC Delco version was only like $5 per rotor more. I don't think I have ever given a compliment to packaging in a review before, but Amazon surprised me with how well it came packaged. I made the mistake of ordering brake parts from the blue and yellow store that starts with a W and ended up having to return them. One rotor was the wrong part number and was falling out of the box by the time it arrived. the other three boxes were badly beaten up but hadn't fallen out of the box yet. The Amazon AC Delco Gold rotors arrived with the factory boxes wrapped in bubble wrap and were then put in a Amazon labeled box to protect them. I was highly impressed. Also, if it's important to you, Raybestos offers a limited lifetime warranty on rotors vs the AC Delco Gold warranty of two years. However, I'm not sure if either warranty will do us any good when buy it from Amazon because the warranty claim for both is carried out through the seller of the parts. Just food for thought. Additionally, I recommend flushing your brake fluid if you haven't done it in a while. My research pointed me to the ATE TYP 200 DOT 4 brake fluid as being the best for just about any application other than racing and should yield longer service life between flushes. The recent brake job I did consisted of front and rear AC Declo Gold rotors, Akebono Performance pads which are GG friction rated and should be an upgrade over the FF rated OEM pads when it comes to stopping power, towing, and longevity of the pads. Additionally, I flushed the brakes with new ATE TYP 200 DOT 4 brake fluid, applied a thin layer a moly lube to the pad ears, clip surface areas and caliper & piston surfaces that meet with the pad. Additionally, I used Raybestos DBL-2T Brake Lube on the slide pins. Tip: Akebono recommends you use a moly lube for brake pad clips and the surface area where caliper piston meets with the pad. Honda HN 08798-9010 MOLY PASTE (M77) is what you want for that. Moly lube specific for brake parts is hard to find and extremely expensive, but this is what you want if you don't want to touch your breaks for another 100k miles or more. I hope my review was helpful and someone was able to benefit from my research and experience. ... show more

  • Genuine AC Delco rear rotors
Packaging was the same as you get from a GM parts counter. Same box and plastic bagged rotor. Black coating on the hub area was very even with no blemishes and no overspray on the rest of the rotor. Rotor was coated both inside and out in a heavy protective film which took a bit to remove but no one should mount a rotor without cleaning anyway. Some have complained they had excessive runout. Mine arrived with .00051 runout on the face of one rotor and .00060 on the second. That is well within normal for any OEM rotor. Inner surface of the rotor was properly machined smooth for parking brake. ... show more

The brake rotors work and fit just fine. They are not the easiest rotors to remove or replace due to their having both shoes and pads. But, in all they work fine and the price was a great deal.
