I was in a pinch and needed a new dome as our last one broke while in storage... The typical dome we buy every year from Walmart or Lowes... thin flexible plastic that you dare not set ANYTHING on top of. This unit was a little more expensive, but it was able to ship the same day. Upon receiving the package I knew right off that something was off... this unit has some weight to it! Packaging was well above par to nearly Anything I've gotten from Amazon. Even the CARDBOARD BOX was unusually high quality!!! This unit is made of good thick plexiglass (guessing on actual material). While it has a smaller footprint that what I was use to, it was still bigger than what I need right now. As a Bonus, it even includes an add-on that Doubles the height of it, letting us keep our plants in twice as long. (addition also includes separate vents!!!) Had to leave a great review as we have a suspicion that this will be the last one we need to buy! ... show more

I have had many flimsy plastic tray and lid combos over the years. but I was surprised at the sturdiness, ease of assembly. and quality of this unit. I expect it will last for many years, The dome is sturdy and nice and tall. so when I repot in larger pots, the plants will be that much larger and hardier. ... show more

I love the firmness of this product. It's really built well. The only compromise for me was it was a little smaller than the ones I was used to. Meaning I needed to use a little smaller cups/pots for my cloning of cannabis. But it's built a LOT better than most of the other ones I've used.

Now this planter is awesome. I use it to clone my photinias. Cut some stems. Then plant in the medium. It has an extender so I can cut larger samples. With the extender it has 4 adjustable air holes to regulate the humidity. The whole thing is clear so I can see what's going on.
