  • High quality product, great customer service, rugged
First off, let me say that AC infinity has exceptional customer service. I had some concerns about my fan right around Christmas time, and they were very willing to assist me. You should have confidence in support buying this product. Now for the actual fan it’s self. Right out of the box, I can tell this is a strong fan. It boasts a heavier weight than most crappy usb fans because it’s made of metal, and I adore that. You would really have to try to break it. I have a mind to do a drop test Incase it ever came loose from its support, but I predict it would damage the floor!! It moves a lot of air, runs quiet, and has a versatile design. This sets the standard for a quality DIY fan. It’s offered at an exceptional price, and I doubt there are other options offered at this price point with this quality. So, if you are considering buying this to use for a mini grow room, attic ventilation, cooling, or any project that requires air flow, get it. I would go as far as to say you could use this to promote airflow in a living room. It moves a ton of air. The ONLY area that could be improved on is the plug. This is the only part of the fan that could potentially give out, however I’ve yet to see that happen. I even bent the prongs by trying to plugin the fan backwards, but after forcing it back in the right way, I got it working again. Exercise a bit of caution when plugging it in and out, and you will be set. Awesome product, would recommend. ... show more

  • Sweet little Muffin
Dig these 1238s a lot! Solid price, robust aluminum frame, mounting hardware, grill guards and power cord. I upgraded to a dual fan setup with speed control for a project when I thought one was enough, and that’s what I like about these too, very easy to upgrade and configure. I didn’t have to clip strip and heat shrink anything. They run so quiet and worked right out the box. I have other products of theirs and all just feel so premium. I feel like I need to make up projects so I had an excuse to get more to use haha. These fans at this price help so much for low budget diy projects. Listing the specs and everything also very helpful, will suggest to anyone in need of a fan for their project. I’m truly a fan… of these fans… 😅 ... show more

  • This is an excellent, high-flow project fan-- high-quality worksmanship and durable
I bought one of these to try an experiment-- my bathroom doesn't have an exhaust fan; could I create one that could be automated? First off, the fan is substantial-- that is a metal housing, with a metal grating (reversible), and solid household 110 lead (which is socketed at the fan, also). The fan fits well in a small window I have in that bathroom, and I was able to run the wire to a software-controllable smart outlet, and integrate the fan into scenes and verbal commands. I was also able to set up a rule to turn the fan off automatically after 30 minutes. The only two downmarks I have for the fan are that 1) it comes with only one grill-- meaning one side of the fan is going to be exposed and it WILL damage your fingers, 2) it's quite audible-- not hugely loud like a jet engine, but it's a high volume fan in a small form factor. You might want to think twice if you're planning on sleeping next to it. By contrast, I looked for vendors in China that might supply a similar fan. I did find an almost-identical seeming product and ordered a couple, but unfortunately, they are much closer to PC case fans-- 100% plastic, no reversible/removable grill, and while rated for 110, they provide fairly short, very thin leads that are embedded on the fan side. There wasn't that much of a cost difference. ... show more

  • Good air flow
The fan pushes a lot of air for this size fan. You can feel the breeze a few feet away. It is loud for its size, louder than bigger fans I have. I can hear this fan running from another room. Although the noise is easy to block out. I was running the fan outside of a cabinet, inside it would likely be quieter. The case around the fan is aluminum but the fan blade is plastic. The fan is symetrical, you can mount either way. They put a white sticker on the outside end of the fan center, so you see white rather than black. It does not appear to be easy to remove either. Fan sticker says made in China. Overall it is great, just a little loud for this size fan. ... show more

  • 24/7 for 5 Years! 24/7 for 5 Years!
11-2022 update— I’ve used various models of AC infinity fans for cooling audio systems and video streaming cubes and even to vent a greenhouse. Most recently I’m using a 120v fan to cool a 1000 watt gro light ballast. I have some that have been running constantly for over 5 years exposed to the elements! None have yet failed!———————— Original review These are high speed high output fans and make more noise than one designed for cooling a home theater amp. These fans have run non stop outside on my dogs potty room since April of 2018 and cooling my digital ballast for a year. It’s now Oct. 2020 & both are still going strong . It’s run thru summer heat and dead of winter cold. The fan cooling the ballast is on a timer to only run when the gro lights are on.I also have a pair of ac infinity 5v usb fans on my home theater sound system & on my heavily used router, those also have run nonstop quietly over for two years. —- original review—- I was surprised by the big output of this little fan. At 110 cfm it’s comparable to many bathroom exhaust fans. The frame is sturdy cast aluminum. The highly pitched blades are shatter resistant plastic. The power cord attaches very secure & seems unlikely to come loose. I installed this fan to vent a 6x8 building and it’s doing the job perfectly running 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It’s been on that schedule for two years & still performs like new. Smooth & quiet. Overall I’m more than pleased with the performance and quality of this product not to mention the value. ... show more

  • Great fan if you desire MAXIMUM air flow (and don't mind maximum NOISE!)
If performance and air flow are what you're looking for, this fan had the highest CFM that I found in this footprint. Unfortunately it was too loud for my application! I used this fan to replace the cheaply made fan that came in my under cabinet mini-fridge. The original fan was a clunky AC motor with a poorly balanced plastic fan pressed onto the motors shaft and it would shift around in it's mounting bracket and start making a HORRIBLE grinding noise as the imbalanced blades would bang up against the metal fan shroud. I had to 3D print a custom bracket to mount it to the frame of the fridge, and it worked PERFECTLY. It was extremely well balanced, and it moved a TON more air than the OE fan did. The only problem was, because it's a high-speed, high-airflow fan, the motor noise was too loud for a mini fridge which often runs for long periods of time in a quiet room. It was so loud that I could hear it from my bedroom while it was running in my quiet kitchen! So I replaced it with another AC infinity with similar specs, except it's the "quiet" model LS1238. This fan is 47 dba, and the quiet version is only 32 dba. It moves a bit less air, but more than enough to cool off the compressor and move air over the radiator, and it's much more quiet! The LS1238 when installed in the back of the fridge, and the fridge is pushed into it's cubby in our island, the sound is similar to that of a laptop that's running warm and who's fans are running at full speed. (You can tell it's running, but not so loud that it's annoying) Whereas the high CFM version was approximately the equivalent to a large computer server, or a welder that's powered on but sitting idle (not actually welding) This is fine for a server or piece of shop equipment, but not for a small refrigerator running in your kitchen all night. I've purchased and used a half dozen AC Infinity fans from their axial/muffin fans, to their 12" inline duct fans, and I LOVE them.. and wouldn't use ANY other brand for a line-voltage fan. (For 12/24 volt DC case fans, I use Noctura) But for anything high voltage, I HIGHLY recommend AC Infinity! ... show more

  • Powerful little exhaust fan
Wow ❣️ This little guy is amazing. It's mounted on one of two shed air vents. I have to keep my handicapped mobility scooter and all terrain electric wheelchair in this shed. Lithium batteries must be kept cool. Product draws the hot air to the outside even though it's so tiny. Low noise. It's appearance is perfect. It draws the air from the outside through 2nd vent located 12' away. My air conditioner is now able to run less & keep my handicapped medical devices cooler. Fan is mounted to the vent opposite from the outdoor prevailing wind. Here in the desert that's the south wind. Yesterday was another 110° day and the shed was so much cooler. Its versatility is helpful. Though I won't need the product for 6 months each year, I am thrilled to have it for these hot AZ days and nights. I highly recommend this little guy fan. ... show more
