The abxylute N6 absolutely exceeded my expectations. This thing feels like it was designed by people who actually play games, not just manufacture controllers. The open‑top ergonomic design is a game‑changer. It gives you a full, natural grip without the bulky wraparound feel of traditional controllers. It’s surprisingly lightweight too, which makes long sessions way more comfortable. The Hall‑effect joysticks are incredibly smooth and precise, with zero drift issues. [Not AI] - Like my previous reviews So how's the abxylute N6 experience? Honestly, the ergonomics on this controller are incredible. It feels amazing in hands, the back paddles are easy to reach, the buttons are nice and clicky, loud enough to feel satisfying, but not annoying. The joysticks are comfortable, size wise too. There’s no metal ring around them, but these are hall effects. Compared to my Nitro Deck for the original Switch, this doesn't feel cheap or plasticky at all. The Nitro Deck kind of felt like a cheap 3D print, but this thing actually feels premium. There’s a nice textured grip on the back if your hands tend to get sweaty (Which will definitely happen) over long gaming sessions. Setting the whole thing up couldn't have been simpler... I just slid my Switch 2 right into the controller and it was good to go. The rumble is STRONG, and both the gyro and motion controls work perfectly (tested it out with Tears of the Kingdom). There's no noticeable battery drain either. Overall, it's a fantastic unit and totally a must-buy. Does it leave the top piece of the Switch 2 hanging out? Yeah, but, I fail to see how this negatively impacts the unit. It feels great, works great, the buttons are great... I seriously have zero complaints.

Quality Ergonomics!

I usually don’t use my Nintendo Switch 2 handheld very often, preferring to keep it docked when I’m playing at home. However, when I do take it out, my current favourite controller is the Abxylute N6. The ergonomic design of this controller is truly outstanding—it fits your hands far better than the standard Joy-Cons, offering a level of comfort that’s simply incomparable. The difference in comfort is striking, making long gaming sessions much more enjoyable. The build quality is impressive as well. Although it’s made from plastic, it’s a high-quality, premium plastic that doesn’t attract fingerprints like cheaper materials do. Plus, it connects via USB-C, so you don’t have to worry about unreliable Bluetooth connections or constantly charging it, which is a common issue with many other controllers. My Switch 2 has a tempered glass screen protector installed, and when I slide it into the Abxylute N6, it fits perfectly, just like a glove, without the tempered glass causing any interference or fitting problems. One of the main reasons I chose this controller is because of the Hall effect sticks, which effectively eliminate the notorious Joy-Con drift issues that many Nintendo users face. The buttons themselves have a softer, more classic feel compared to the louder, clickier switches found on other controllers. They’re incredibly quiet but still provide a responsive and satisfying tactile experience. I also really appreciate the two programmable buttons on the back, which add a great deal of customization and convenience. Interestingly, the Switch 2 tablet protrudes slightly when inserted, and I find this off-centre position to be more ergonomic than using the regular Joy-Cons. Although it might feel unusual at first, trust me, this unique positioning actually enhances comfort and control. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this purchase. If you’re looking for a controller that offers a comfortable and immersive handheld gaming experience, the Abxylute N6 is definitely the one to choose. It combines excellent ergonomics, solid build quality, and thoughtful features that make it a standout option for any Switch 2 owner.

A solid gaming controller.

The N6 is a fantastic add on to the Nintendo Switch 2. -Sizing/Build Quality/Portability The controller fits the Switch 2 quite snugly. I tried shaking it in all directions, no sounds and no sliding out. It feels comfortable in my hands (glove size large) and works for my kids (much smaller hands) This has been the way I play at home, I do not have a case where I feel comfortable throwing it in my daily work bag yet. But if I had a case I would say it could be quite portable but would make it larger for sure. -Buttons The face buttons and the d-pad give a nice solid press. They are not loud and clicky so good for those who are playing at night and do not want to disturb others in the home. The L and R buttons also have a nice clear click to them. The ZR and ZL triggers are a little mushy for me but in no way a deal breaker, they actuate very quickly for those fast paced gaming sessions. I like the addition of the GL and GR buttons on the back, the switch sees them and lets you program them per game straight from the pop up menu from holding down the home button. -Rumble and sound The rumble comes through strong, I do not know if it is the same or similar to the 3D rumble feature found on Joy Con but it is a very solid rumble. There are cut outs on the front of the unit so the Switch 2 speakers can come through, and it does not dampen sound quality at all. Overall, there are maybe 2 cons I could come up with. One I mentioned was the ZR and ZL not being my favorite and the second is no kickstand access, but this is meant to turn it into a Switch 2 lite almost so again I can forgive it. It is not dockable (but I did not expect it to be so, it uses the bottom USB-C connector and has no passthrough). One thing that I would have liked to see was potentially a place to put an extra game cartridge or two in each of the handles. I am glad I grabbed this and will be using it a lot for sure.

This is perfect! (Aside from the Rumble)

The build quality and materials are what you would expect with an OEM controller. Very little flex and no creaking. Most Buttons are my favorite rubber membrane style and the Dpad doesn’t have accidentally diagonal input s (something I am very sensitive to). The rumble is very strong but not in a good way. I set it to the lowest setting and it still is too powerful! It makes a buzzing noise that takes away from the experience. Especially if you are in an environment where you are trying to be quiet. Just disable it in the switch settings and it goes away. In my initial impressions, seems battery life is slightly longer than with the Joy-Con plugged in and using the console’s battery… (Nintendo need to fix this)

Great, especially for larger hands

I mainly use my Switch 2 in portable more and I had been looking for something to use for my switch 2 while in portable mode other than the default joycons because I have larger hands and the ergonomics of the default setup aren't that comfy for me. Seeing the gamecube color is what drew my eye to the abxylute model over others. So far it's much comfier to use. The shell is firm and solid, no creaking or flexing of feeling hollow. The texture feels very nice as well, it's very similar to that of the official SNES or gamecube controllers and feels very high quality. So far it also seems like it won't be a fingerprint magnet either which is nice. Buttons and joystick feel great as well. ABXY buttons give good feedback and are quiet while the various start / menu / home / macro / C / etc buttons have a satisfying click when pressed. ZL and ZR also feel nice and I would actually say nicer than the default joycons. L and R give a quiet and tactile click when used and the back buttons line up perfectly with my middle or ring fingers, with middle being the usual placement. Joysticks have a nice amount of resistance and click satisfyingly. And being hall-effect style gives some piece of mind about the dreaded chance of stick drift from the default joycons. I haven't tried out the turbo function yet but look forward to doing so, trying to find if there's any games where it is a benefit. Downloading the smartphone app also seems to allow macro creation which will be exciting to look into! Again I really like the gamecube aesthetics as well. The purple shell just looks so good! Overall I much prefer it to the stock joycons. Much less hand ache when playing for a longer period due to its increased surface area and curved instead of flat ergonomics.

Great Device, Terrible Rumble/Vibration Feature

The controller itself is great. Feels a lot like a Steam Deck, or the Hori Split Pad Pro for Switch 1. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the rumble motors and feature is atrocious. After playing Donkey Kong Bananza for a couple days on the basic Switch 2, I "switched" to this and while appreciating every other part of it, I had to turn off the rumble entirely in settings. This doesn't have the "HD Rumble" so it just...vibrates. Every step of Donkey Kong is overdone, even with it turned down. This thing would be perfect if it had the HD Rumble that comes with the Switch 2 joycons because the granular rumble that Nintendo layers into their games a really do add a bit to them. And with the nuance removed, the rumble is overpowering and feels like just a battery drain. If you don't use rumble and turn it off anyway, then get this because everything else is great.

Great controller with GameCube vibes

I’ve been enjoying this controller so far. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable it feels compared to using the regular Joy-Cons, especially during longer gaming sessions. It gives the Switch 2 a much better grip without making it feel overly bulky. One of my favorite things about it is the Hall effect joysticks. They feel really smooth and responsive, and that was one of the main features I was looking for. I also really like the color scheme. It has that classic GameCube look, which gives it a nice nostalgic feel. The buttons and triggers feel good, and everything has worked well with my Switch 2 so far. Overall, it feels well made, comfortable to hold, and makes handheld gaming more enjoyable. The Hall effect sticks and GameCube-inspired colors really make it stand out for me.
