  • Until Canon comes out with an RF 35mm. L, this is the one.
Style: Lens Only
Super fast F1.4, this lens covers all the bases, from quality glass to weather resistant sealing. This lens is perfect for landscape photography and for traveling light. I'm solely a prime lens user, and this one is always in my bag.

  • Jaw dropping
Style: Lens Only
I'm a professional wedding photographer and have been shooting full time since 2002. I've been using primes for the last 10 years and tend to shoot with two 5 Mark III bodies. The 35L Mark I has been my most used lens; approximately 50 percent of the images I deliver to clients are shot with it. Another 25 percent are shot with the 85LII, and the rest are equally divided between the 135L, the 50L and the 24LII. I venture below f/2 only when I need to because none of the above lenses achieve critical sharpness wide open. They are of course awesome lenses, but just aren't *as sharp* as I prefer. And yes, they are all microadjusted. The 35 1.4 II is simply in another world compared to the rest of Canon's most recent L series primes from 24mm to 135mm. I felt like I put on a pair of glasses when I started peeping at the files. It's as sharp wide open as the old one was at 2.8. Color fringing is practically non existent, and it nails focus in dimly lit venues with my 5d3 bodies 90% of the time wide open, compared to maybe 65% of the time with the old one (we are talking ISO 3200, 1/100th, f/1.4 -- so not much ambient light). Color and contrast are gorgeous. This is an expensive lens but in a class of its own and I'm thrilled with it. It's bigger than the old version and seems quite a bit more robust. I've used the Sigma Art lens, which seemed nearly as sharp, but focus accuracy was not as good in poorly lit reception venues. ... show more

  • In stock, next day shipping, Amazon locker, Everything went great :)
Style: Lens Only
So very stoked to have this lens now! I was a little worried at first because Canon’s website said they were on back order but I guess they keep a stock on Amazon (said “in stock” on Amazon). Got the lens next day shipping no problem at all, purchased new, got it new, it’s in pristine condition :) Also, I dig Amazon locker, everything went fantastic. Great piece of mind for such a big investment! ... show more

  • won't go back to kit lenses
Style: Lens Only
This is my first "good" lens. Until now I have only used sub $300 lenses. What a big difference! A family member asked me to take some pictures at a wedding. I decided to rent this lens from a website. It worked good, and I shipped it back. Then I started using my lenses again, and soon realized that they were just not as good. I know.... you can't compare kit lenses against this one. But I had been spoiled, so I had to buy one. I am very happy with it. One thing to note, it comes with the lens hood and lens pouch. I didn't see those listed as accessories, so I bought them separately and now have extra. ... show more

  • An everyday standard
Style: w/ UV Filter
Great lens to add to the collection. I honestly wish I had added it sooner. This has become one of my go-to lens for street shoots and portraits. Super fast and sharp focus with a buttery bokeh. One of Canon’s finest lenses for sure.

  • Sharp, Great in Low Light
Style: Lens Only
I’ve wanted this lens for a long time! It’s the perfect wide angle lens with a sharp output. It’s a beast of a lens. Had to take some getting used to but after a few days it’s easy to figure it out. GREAT in low light. Very happy!
