IMO best of all the Revo's. No extra tech to cause problems. I have the X and SX and like the X better. Lighter weight, so much smother and quieter. Casts at least as good if not better than the SX and drag is equal. Simplicity, it JUST WORKS!!!

Typical Abu Garcia Revo quality. This is my fourth within this line, and it works flawlessly like all of the others. It makes long casts with little to no backlash, even when casting Vibrax spinners with blades that provide natural braking in the air, much like a stiff headwind. Many of my lower end bait casters will backlash at that moment as the spool outruns the lure. But not the Revo X which obviously has a fine tuned, efficient braking system. It is a good looking reel, lightweight, reasonable priced, reliable, and it's orange accents match up nicely with my Okuma SST casting rod. ... show more

I have three of these reels, two 5.4 to 1 and now a 6.7 to 1. The 5.4 reels are better than the more expensive I have. These reels are very smooth and cast really good, they have become my favorite cranking reels. The 6.7 to 1 will definitely be my new swimbait reel.

I’ll add a star if this turns out the way I think it will. I own 6 Abu Garcia reels now. I had the Revo model with the centrifugal brake and it was absolutely amazing. But I gave it to my son, (I don’t know why) but I love all my AG Baitcaster reels. This one seems like it will not disappoint. They moved the side plate release, to the bottom and is no longer, in the way. So no accidental releases. Very light and low profile is spot on. It has a big spool and big retrieve knobs. 20 lbs. max drag and feels very well made. Clickers on all the adjustments, I don’t know, I just like that. I’m sure I will be purchasing more of these. Not giving any away again though. I still miss that reel. ... show more

Casts like a dream. Love the feel of this reel. Took it to the yard straight away for some test casts despite the weather. Can't wait for the snow to go away so I can REELy put it to the test (excuse my cheesy pun). Update: been using this reel for a while now. Hands down my favorite setup among my other reels. Very fun to cast, quick and efficient. Only issue I’ve run into is the handle is a bit loose because the nut seems to be stripped out (seen others complain about this too, may be a common defect). Update of my update: I bought an Abu Black Max not too long after this... guess what? The nut is compatible between the two. I switched them wanting to see if I could get the better of the two reels handle tight. Not only did it work like a dream and now my Revo handle is steady and true, but the nut that was loose on the Revo is perfectly tight on the Black Max LOL. ... show more
