The reel was disappointing right out of the box with the cheapness I noticed. The line guide is plastic and the materials appear to be inferior . I was Leary of even trying to use for spring browns and returned it. I purchased an Okuma cold water reel instead .

I purchased two of these reels in 2020 and found them a nice looking and well-machined reel from Abu Garcia. I have an earlier baitcasting model like this and its nearly indestructible. Everything about the reel is quality and they performed well on the water trolling for walleye. The one drawback for me was changing batteries. The round, flat CR2032 battery that is used snaps into the compartment cap and the cap screws into place. The cap was so tight that the groove on top of the cap quickly wore off and I was forced to use a screwdriver to open. The cap should have been metal. I now have to use special snap ring pliars to change the battery. Abu Garcia could have done much better for the price. ... show more
