these reels are great well worth the price people don’t rate these reel coz they think it’s cheap chinese crap but there worth it its not a 500£ for 60 odd dollars and it’s has bushing not bearing which is better nothing to rust or fail in my opinion i put the break on full throw 20g lures and 70g lure with no birds nests built solid and will hold up over time the spool hold more line then you think cost a fortune to fill it with braid ... show more

    • Release button is not the most handy for me

I’ve used it several times this year and for the most part it seems to work fine. My only problem/ and it’s probably mine is having to use both hands for the release button to be pushed without letting the spool spin. Like I say it’s my problem!!

I really like this reel. The first time I used it the spool release button stuck a few times but after the 1st fishing trip it didn't stick on any other fishing adventures. I Don't cast much with it as I got it to use on my bait/sabiki rod, my last 15+ year old reel finally stopped working. The clicker/line out alarm is nice to have just in case. Smooth drag and overall build looks & feels grate so far. If it lasts as long as my last reel it replaced I'll be thrilled. Hard to find a better reel for the low price I got it for, I'm happy with it. ... show more

It's all good. I bought this one because I have another 6500 been using in salt water for big fish bottom fishing for 4 years with wonderful performance.

These S type reels are good but not as GOOD as the C3 and C4 models. I mistakenly ordered one and sent it back forthwith and then ordered Abu Garcia C4-6601. No mistake the S round reel is a good entry level item but I would never use it in salt water. If you are looking for a "catfish" reel it will be the "cats meow". Years ago I got a really good closeout deal on a C3 model and it has caught all manner of salt water fish even massive cobia and grouper (w/ 40 lb braid and 8.5 foot medium/heavy power, fast action rod), but mostly boatloads of speckled trout, flounder and redfish. The difference is C3,C4 are made in Sweden and have 3 or 4 ball bearings + 1 bushing and the S has 1 ball and 1 bushing and is made in China. ... show more
